I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone who stuck around to watch. I realize a low harvest grow is kinda meh! However the next one i do should be interesting. I will be growing blueberry, grapefruit, Afghoo, and Chem 4. All these seeds are feminized and I will not be transferring the plants. Basically plant and let her rip. I've also been planning on putting an agromax bulb in for increased trichome development. I just have yet to decide what type of agromax T5 to get and how I will fit it in my tent. Either way, I hope everyone is doing good.
Nice work! Weight is just a small portion of the enjoyment...at least for me. I'd rather look at 2 or 3 great flowers than 100 mediocre flowers.

You're absolutely right! I went a visited a medical grow op about a month ago. 2 1000 watt hps and all hush hush. Guy was a little paranoid can't say I really blame him. All in all though, visually speaking it really wasn't impressive. Yeah he had some nice colas but it was bland man. No glistening resin, just a chop shop for buds. I was kinda surprised since i had a different idea of what i'd see. I think we all have expectations which are tough to live up to. He did say that the current crop was a difficult grow. My grow before this was great (at least for me). Close to 2 oz per plant, dense beautiful glistening buds and low electrical bills. It did smell though and from what I'm reading "happy plants don't smell"-RM3. Soo keeping this in mind, I will always try to live up to my expectations and improve my techniques. Either way, I have high hopes for my next grow. I'm really excited and excitement is tough to come by as you get older. Thanks for stopping by HydroRed. I hope all is well with you and yours!

i too read & learned somethings from @RM3 postings, i am grateful for discovering that "happy plants dont stink". i now understand moreso that if you can smell it you are losing it. if i keep my plants cooler, the most volatile terpenes dont evaporate into the air as much, & my flowers will reek after the 10 day dry & dry trim, & cure.

Nothing worth doing is easy. For a while I was running a 200 watt hps. Even with exhaust it was just too hot for my operation. I like the cobs, I've noticed that in the 75 F range the smell is much less, though when you hit 78 and up...whew baby! I will probably always have a scrubber. I see it as a security blanket for summer temps. I never really thought of connecting terpene loss with smell but it makes sense now that you say it. I just learned something new, thanks for the input mr. childs!

not much heat, but it will fry plants quickly...
So my Pure UV lights showed up. It's gonna be a real tight fit. Originally I had my scrubber in the center of the tent flanked on both sides by my cobs. Now I'm thinking on moving my scrubber to hang above one light unit. Than, put the UV where the scrubber was. This way it will be at least 36'' above the canopy and hopefully minimize any burning. I'll definitely have to dry run this when I'm home. Nobody wants a fire hazard.

please get a separate timer for the uv bulb. if you are emulating the outdoors, i think uv is highest around noon. try not to burn your plants while learning what they will be able to handle uv wise initially. dont forget to turn it off when you enter the grow area.

You're absolutely correct and thank you for looking out. I purchased a sentinel DRT-1 timer to run these lights separately. I'm thinking 15 mins per hour for idk how many times, during flowering. As I research more into this, I'll make adjustments. Also finally picked up some grow glasses that fit over my prescription ones. I assume there will be some leaf burning while i dial these babys in. In fact i am ok with losing an entire grow to test this out. I have no intentions of being in this tent while these are on! I don't really even like working in the tent while my cobs are on. However, i dim them to their lowest setting when i must. Got to say my eye site is getting shitty though. Lots of floaters, but I attribute this to smoking, genetics and getting old. Mad props to you though, it's great to see people looking out for others on RIU.

Read through, great thread, nice grow!
How do you like the Starfighter? I just started starfighter × stardawg seeds this morning, following along
-good luck:leaf:
Mine was a compact Indica. The nugs were very dense and the smoke was great. From what I've heard there are many different variations of this plant being sold all over the place. I doubt the version i grew is from the original breeder. I liked it though.
