Good LEd to supplement HPS?

I currently have a 400 watt HPS and was wondering what would be a good LED to add to supplement lighting on the sides. I am not looking for anything too expensive, max price being about $200, what would you suggest for flowering?

I havent used any LED companies yet but i have set my eyes on vipar. I also heard blackstar was good. Doesnt matter which LED company you go with your going to be paying a bit of money and do a lot of research in the company your going to go with.

If i was using hps i probably wouldn't bother if you ask me. More light is good but for the up front cost you might as well give them extra CFL lighting. Or switch completely to LED and suppliment with CFL

Thats the combination im going with. But like i said if you have the money and your set on it check out the two companies i stated above and theres also an LED company links thread.

It's a little more than you want to pay but it's quality and will stay with you - Kessil H350 magenta and will give you almost 90 real watts of LED (learn the difference between what theoretical and actual watts drawn at the plug 'cause the LED manufacturers are into deceit) growershouse.com is the lowest regular price that I see but you can occasionally find used on e-bay for less. You can mount it on a gooseneck or on chain quite easily as the mounting locations are there.

Blackstar is pretty known for blowing their cheap drivers within a year. If you want to learn how to solder to get your light back to functioning, it's a decent buy....but if you already know a little about soldering - make your own fixture this time and make a quality one.

http://astirgrows.com/en/led-panels/498-24watt-led-panel-flowering-stage.html

24w of 1w diodes, you can get inches away and not worry about a thing. Not to mention you have the EXACT %'s you are going to want in Flower (6% blue, 2500k WW led's)

If you know much about led, White's are planting their foot in the market, no pun..

~6x8", 22w draw... perfect sup panel.

Two kessils are not going to be equivalent to 700w of HID no matter what the papers say.

Read up.

I have been interested in the white spectrum but the only problem is I cant find very much info at all or tests or grow journals using white to validate it, do you have any links or info regarding them? Thanks for the response

There are several panels out there that can stand on their own... and rock it...

Area 51 being at the top of this list, with California Lightworks to follow. Apache... Etc.

...all these massive panels are running whites to some extent.. but we're looking for supplements, not Sun level PAR machines...

Astir is on the right track with their panels, made towards micro growers.. But look like they would rock for supping some spectra.

Browse the LED section... Go down 2-3 pages worth, read and absorb every bit you can. We are all constantly learning.

I will be purchasing a few of these panels myself... And I am already all led, the source of light, at that angle- is perfect for my scenario.

Stick some warm white 50w floodlights on the sides....ready to hang....and project a wide angle. :)
