Good Ol' Hydroponic Tomatoes

Hey guys, I recently started a tomato plant in a 5 gallon bucket with a bubble stone at the bottom. Just a basic bubbleponics setup. Just wanted to know if anyone knew the Ph that tomatoes need to be at in a hydro setup. Also what are the nutrient requirements for it? I'm gonna feel stupid if it's the same as my cannabis plants.

I grow tomatoes but not hydro ones, sounds like something I might try. I actually feed my tomatoes tomato food. They mark it as tomato food, I use Miracle Grow brand. As for the NPK of the food, I do not recall...I can check when I get home.

Alright thanks. I actually am feeding them a 1/4 strength soluble plant food I got at a nursery. the npk is 23-18-16 I know these are somepretty damn high values so I'm gonna have to get this plant adjusted very slowly.

I also use a liquid fertilizer called worm poop by terracycle, it works great and is real easy to use but I do not know how well it would work hydro...I know this is pretty much pure N. I also noticed that my bushy vegetables really get thick after applying this but it has to be applied every two weeks. I also use Bone Meal and Blood Meal on the veggy garden NPK is 12-0-0 and 6-9-0, towards the end of the season we hit it up with some Select Plant Food which is 10-10-10. I'm no expert my grandmother taught me and I just use what she showed me...if only she grew the sacred weed...lol

If you get any pictures I would love to see, starting a veggie garden in the winter could be fun for me, I want to see how well you do. I just started pumpkins last year, they are a ton of fun, I logistically speaking the pumpkin would be a difficult hydro...alright enough of my gabbing

lol yeah, I'd love it if my parents/grandparents grew herb. I know they'd be a lot more chilled come tax time. I also use blood and bone meal in my grows. but for hydro I think I'll stick to my soluble stuff for now. I just wish I could find the right Ph..

I use miracle grow also. I also use the miracle grow soiless mix. My plants seem to love it because I never have a problem with them.

Im ditching the 6 plant bubbler currently holding Mary after this grow.

Giving it to my ole lady for herbs/veggies. She doesnt know shit about gardening....but neither did I until a couple months ago.

Tomato. green beans, basil, cilantro, bell pepper seeds on hand. She's anxious to get it.

Most plants in hydro require the same Ph...including Mary. Mangia Mangia is in the know.

Hey Lacy,
Is that your dog. I love German Shepherds, I have an all black German Shepherd, they are awesome dogs.

And just for all you out there not in the know..Mangia Mangia means EAT!EAT! in italian, something grandmothers love to say. It's funny because I am pretty much the only skinny person in my family, which translates to an italian grandmother as "you look so sick", meanwhile everyone else has diabetes and they are quite heavy but they are healthy cause they MANGIA!MANGIA! I must say I find my italian heritage quite interesting at times.

Maggio le vostre piante si sviluppano del fumo vostro e completo il gusto grande!!

Why are you ditching it? Do you not like? Maybe you're just really a nice guy who likes to give his girlfriend something nice...brownie points for you!!

Giving it to her because it takes up so such space in my closet...and the plants grow too big to put 6 in there at once.

Plus the height of the plants gets to be an issue too. We live together so its not like its going anywhere. I'll use it again eventually.

But for now...I can grow more plants in the space I have plus I get brownie points. Win win for me.

I've got a german shepherd too, I should put a pic of her on here sometime. I have the same kind of family, except they are german. they used to tell me I looked so small and that if I ate more than anyone else I'd be stronger than them, HAH. Glad I never listened to that. I'm glad I stayed skinny. A lot of my family has health problems because they're overweight too.

Yes Sir! She is a purebred german shepherd. We had another one before her but we had to put her down to due health concerns. Totally heart breaking. German Shepherds are awesome dogs.
