Good opening sales lines and sales techniques in legal gray market states

My friend works in the gray market in a legal state. He is not very good in sales so I am trying to help him out. I said he should hang in clubs and get a pt job at a restaurant.

What is a good ice breaking sales line?? Something like "hey man do your friends like to party?" Then hold you fingers to your lips like burning one.

Any suggestions for my friend Rackto?

the easiest way is to carry a pocket full of joints or a vape pen and Go around the city, to obvious spots..like parks and stuff.. when u see someone cool, especially a cool-looking person smoking a cigarette.. break the ice by asking for a light, but isnetad of pulling out a cigarettte, spark up a joint. their face will either light up in joy, or disgust.. if they look not-cool, hand them abck their lighter, say thanks and polietly walk away.. go to a local bar/music venue, nights when they live bands are great.. often a weekday with local act is just as promising as a friday night national headliner... look for cigarette smokers and spark up a joint. if there are cool people in the vicinity, they will come over and say what's up.. tell him to target hipsters and the millenials. they got the cash nowadays.. i mean, but it goes without saying that yur boys weed got to be on point.. this whole thing hinges on his weed being better than everyone elses.. Good weed sells itself, ya know what i mean? hope that helped!

IMG956709.jpg How about something like this,

Hey motherfuckers, crazy pete sent me to here to break your fucking necks!

Just fuckin with ya, he sent me here to sell ya weed...

See after the first line, the second will be a welcome change.

The implications of the first line bleed over nicely to your "offer" of weed instead of a violent confrontation.

Also the not so subtle implication that crazy pete exists only adds to the confused feelings these future "clients"
Will no doubt be feeling at this time.

I think they would have to agree at this point buying weed sounds like the smartest thing they have done all day.

LOL! This should be in a sales training book. Put em on extreme edge first then offer a reward. Classic.

I run across this alot

so I test them out

but first you need the personality to do this 'thing'

many havn't got it and soon crumbles

obvious is the need to be an extrovert...and open

at the same time you need a reputation and that takes time

when middle class american kids use the word 'friend' they mean themselves?

good luck

some way you sell anything
advertise: wear marijuana related clothing, smoke the marijuana, maybe even display some
be fun, talk to people, be straight up with intent.
find target audience, which shouldn't be very hard as all sorts of people smoke.
hell just go straight "half baked" on it. hand out some joints with a business card.

Ice breaking? Sounds like your slangin n00b style lol

You just sound like a cop dude if you start with bs like that

The only thing a bud tender needs to do is show and explain, pitches are for car salesman who wear fucked up pants like Trump lol

When you go to a bar do you ask the chick bar tending with cleavage to upsell you from miller to guiness? Does she care? No I dont think so

If you treat her with respect and have a convo and then ask then yea, you may indeed get an "upgrade". If ya don't ask then ya aint gunna get..... Sales 101. Ask for the business.

Ohh I must not treat with respect I see. Im just saying, most experienced consumers know what they want, sales rap is annoying, a clerk is a clerk a tender is a tender.

Mate I'm a little confused.. you said he's in a Legal state (grey market or not), but you're moving like you're peddling illegal cocaine.

If your friend is just trying to "move" product then keep hustling I guess. But if he is actually looking to create a business I would highly recommend learning Sales, and Marketing. Understanding how the "system" works so you can get yourself into the funnel and get/generate leads.

There's basic business practices, ask your current trustable customers if they know or can refer other trustable friends.

Or...
^You need to think more general... How do people get a "med card"? Okay they get it from Doctor Bush. Then what? Where do they go between Doctor Bush and where they find their product? How do you penetrate that gap? ....Getting Leads.
Then there is a Branding or Culture aspect, do your customers feel comfortable? Why would they choose you or Sketchy Guy on the corner? Then there is getting your brand to the public eye... cannabis expo? advertisements? free offers/trials? etc?

Then are you BMW/Rolls-Royce where you always ONLY have the Best of the Best? Or are you more like the used car dealership where you have a great variety of sub-par product at super-good-prices? Or are you like Wal-mart and you have a little bit of everything?

Then there is just eating shit and being honest.... put your head down, work hard, be honest and genuine.....and play that game....and you will win long term... no question.

obvious is the need to be an extrovert...and open
In OP's specific case maybe. But generally speaking, I do not believe you need to be an extrovert to be good in sales. (Not just my opinion, but paraphrased from numerous successful-mentors.)

What are you talking about gray market? Untaxed flowers? Edibles? Rosin? Carts?

IG is where the action is. Get your ass on there and post, post, post. Just like the NFL, you are in the eyeball business. Talking to folks in clubs doesn't get your product in front of eyeballs. Neither does waiting tables. People looking for weed, look on IG.

But you are too late to this party. The money in the gold rush was made by the guys selling picks and pans, not the ones standing in the freezing creeks. Get into pots, soils and ferts. Or glass ware, vapes, ect, ect. That is where the money is at. Or if you must grow flowers, you have to do the value added thing. Buy a press and squish. Make oil and fill carts.
