quick follow up on this.

it is hideous and terrifying to watch a racist establishment billionaire like trump demonize anything non-white.

but what is even more terrifying is to watch people like GWN and lokie and other "respected members" of our forum actually vote for and root on this type of visceral hatred. and to see all these racist assholes cheer him on.

the underlying subcurrent of every trump rally is a deep hatred of "the other". it is horrifying to watch this take root in our nation.

People used to argue with me when I said our country was turning towards fascism.

Since the election in 2016, nobody argues the point with me anymore. No one.

This is one of those times I really don't like being right or prescient or intelligent enough to see what's happening or what comes next.

The world could survive Hitler in 1932. Today we have enough nuclear weapons in the world to destroy ourselves several times over.

And so what's Herr Chumpster Fuhrer doing? Picking fights with other nuclear armed nations!

He's whipping up xenophobia and nationalistic fervor. He's expanding an already historically gigantic and powerful military while ramping up military actions worldwide.

The parallels with Nazi Germany in the late 1930s are many and chilling.

How does this end? How do we stop this terrorist regime of monied madmen?

What happens if we fail?

But people buy it. The hundreds (I don't know how many go) of people that attend his rallies or the thousands of supporters that watch at home are eating this shit up.

How? How can any human person ingest that shit-filled garbage without immediately gagging and vomiting about the content? He lies. He takes credit for things that had nothing to do with him. He blames other people for all the problems. And he praises himself constantly for the shit job he's doing.

How does he have any supporters left? Fucking baffling.
