Grasshoppers

So I noticed little grasshoppers on my plants eating them like a supersized value meal. I was told to spray my plant with peppermint a little dish detergent and a little vinnegar to help control these pests. I havent noticed a big change but did notice some white powdery traces after I sprayed the leaves. Any organic chemicals that really work. Any help is appreciated.

idk how well it would work against grasshoppers but Neem oil works well against various other insects
