This is black gold, inspection and feeding day
Black gold has a gas smell on leaf and stem rub. All but 2 are basically sativa leaning and want lots of real estate
All but dynamite are 5 weeks from sprout
Dynamite is @4 weeks

Dynamite was the underdawg,
sprouted as an afterthought, was not excited because I figured incorrectly that it could be redundant genetically to garlix
It was planted a week later and one of the 5 never sprouted.
It's easily my favorite now it has caught up to its siblings and it's leaves are wide and round 20170520_094549.jpg

Garlix
This one performed slower than the other horseman it's stems and leaves have a beefy smell akin to a pot roast with sage season
it has sped up in its new soil and is challenging it's neighbors for light

Last but not least,
Copper chem
We have here a true blue blood
One crazy tall mutant who hates it's nutes and the rest, lush pine fuel Skunk and thick chorded stems
I love these and they will stay with me always

ALRIGHT, NOW
The purpose of this grow is to show the performance of under documented strains, as would be grown by the average joe.
My skills are MODEST at best and my equipment is second rate and cobbled together
Greenpoint's gear is VERY forgiving and resilient so far.
I am not seeing sex on enough to choose yet so the lights will be reduced to 14 hrs on and they will compete for it for the next week so nature can assist with the selection
Sorry if you've posted while my slow ass cpu updates I'll be responding shortly

I'm post happy today the chem fest is going great!
Also would like to mention that if ANY of the breeders responsible for my gear see something unique in the lines I'm growing of there stuff,
I'm giving the confidential right of a cut since it's they're genetics, and provided they arrange delivery, as I'm not schooled in such things. Confidential means just that. No showboating, that such and such "wanted one of my cuts"
That is for the sake of the plant!

As a side note I've got actual tracking info on karma's, polar bear og and have karma's og ordered through a European miracle. Kama has #17 kush (bear kush) listed as extinct.
Time to raise it from its grave as a new bear
I've decided to breed one signature northern nevada strain this winter and the coming years and will need testers in 2020 lol

Before and after feeding at 5 weeks from sprout20170518_171744.jpg
20170522_175020.jpg
There's a black gold in the middle that's not happy with its meal, and the tall creepy copper chem in the corner is still looming, at nearly 2 ft.
I can't understand that one's genetics at all. The rest of the coppers are very much alike

Side branching is heavy on the garlix and black g

So unlike a lot of strains I run, when these get crowded. The response is to set the leaves up vertical to compete very efficient!
I'll likely choose from the ones that do this in all 4 strains, currently nature's helping me with the selection in that the strong ones will out compete the others and from there it's sexing and choosing by terps, branching and leaf shape relative to the mom

Happy plants. I love vigor in a strain. That said, males are typically the most vigorous plants. You might want to wait to sex them before you cull the non praying types.
I commend you on your breeding endeavors and look forward to seeing how your Black gold and Copper Chem turn out.

So as far as breeding goes..........
Each chosen female and male will be cloned, the clones set aside and fully bred to they're respective male ie copper fem to copper male etc etc
Each mom a cutting is taken from, will be
Kept, put into flower, and all but lower branches harvested.
The lower branches will be left alive to herm out and produce selfed seed that will be labeled and cataloged

I can see by the growth I need a 4x4 or to run 4 plants each strain or only run 3 or 2 strains next go.
these are the most vigorous plants I've ever run incuding my outdoor gorrila stuff back in the late 90s
The males are showing but only one fem
This weekend I'll have to cull the obvious slow performers at least 4 plants have to go ideally 6

Just throwing this out there for opinion
But if I narrowed it down to 12 females, up pot to 3 to 5 gallon bags each, trimmed, ran sea of green, increased to 500 watts from 400 cob and ran the 4 males in seperate buckets after cloning. Hmmm
