Greensand in no tills

I've always added greensand when making fresh mixes, but it really shines in no till or other long term soils. I consider it my 'fast release' rock dust, fast being relative. LOL

Anyone else using it long term?

all about that greensand. no tills, worm bins, recycled mixes.... I do topdress a little extra every couple runs in the not tills so far. Seems to be working out though. As you have noticed... i as well think it breaks down a little faster than the other rock dusts do.

I've pretty much discontinued using other rock dusts in favor of just greensand. The greensand is almost as dense as the granite meal sourced locally and it's real easy to get the mix too dense with both.

I have been adding some to the worm bins for ~a year now. This was mainly to get it started on that long road to breakdown more than for the worms. Have no idea if they utilize it at all for grit and such, but some play sand is added to all bedding so that is covered in any event.

Have never topdressed with it, but will be shortly. It's been over 5 years since the raised beds had any applied and in some cases, 3+ years for some no tills. I guess it's about time and have a 40# bag on the way from Planet Natural.

We'll see how it goes.
