Grow Box

yeah all my clones do the yellowing thing after they root and i put them in soil, im thinking its a stress thing. i heard if you prune any roots sticking out of your rooter/rockwool or just do a little root pruning then they take to the transplant better. i should have used a little superthrive when i transplanted mine but i neglected to. will do it next time.

Well the stocks on mine went a little purple and i believe thats a sign of nitrogen deficiency. I think what happened is i saturated the New pot with plain water no nuts, so they essentially had no food. Next time im going to try transplanting into Fed soil and see how that pans out for me.

try doing a simple mix of some good organic potting soil and some espoma garden tone...little lime and EWC and that should feed em for a good while, maybe brew up a few AACT's during the process and ammend the AACT with some high P guano during flower.

This was the original plan. I deviated slightly and have changed the overall design for the lighting quiet a bit since starting..But the box its self is built as shown on these prints. only thing not shown on these prints is the doors and the plywood used for the walls on the outside but thats a given really.

have you considered autoflowering for in the cabinet? considering your height restraints, newer better autos will pull 45+ grams a plant. Also led lighting might be a good possibility to keep heat down but add some punch and not worsen height issue. you could use duel sides for male and female for some breeding action! :) just a thought. love the DIY attitude i built my first grow cab from a sandusky metal storage cabinet nice due to stealth and locking ability but pain since working with metal mounting everything is harder

I use sheet metal in my job everyday and it would have turned out much nicer if i had made it out of stay galvanized steel. But the cost factor just isnt there. As for LED's i thought about it but heat isnt an issue at all right now in fact im thinking about swaping the Flower room over to a 400 watt cool tube HPS. As for hight control This run though im going with a SCRoG

UPDATE:
Everything is moving along nicely the veg scrogs are filling out super well! and the flowering plant is Looking very pretty :D

Flower:

Veg:

Both Veg plants have since had there underbelly fan leaves removed for airflow and growth.

very nice setup man, im about to make my own room around a 150w hps with maybe another 100w of cfls for side lighting and a cfl veg chamber right next to it also. im looking at like a 5x4x6 going with a lst/scrog also. will start building soon. subed and staying tuned. once i have all materials ill get a thread set up

looking great man. also as far as autoflowers go they do have thier benifits....like you could get a 600w instead of a 400w and open up the middle of the cab and just veg flower in the same side on the same light schedule...

disadvantages is that strain dependant they can either get really big or stay really small. no cloning and really no options for training.....its kinda a it is what it is..

i just recently bought some autos that ill be growing this summer and inside my veg cab....i like them but i dont know if i would give up the flexibility of photoperiod plants.

my 2¢

Please post a link as i would love to see what you come up with!

And To Matt Id have to agree To grow Autos in my box i would have to re-construct for 1 room to allow more to grow at once. Also As said you dont have as much of a training period to work with so its pretty much just vertical growing. I also like the idea of Auto's but i like being able to veg for as long as i want or short as i want. And cloning is a must for my box, saves on constantly buying seeds.

i grow autos in my veg tent...i like them but i dont grow any more than one at a time. i stick to my photo plants because i like having control over my garden. and yes buying seeds is a pain in the ass. i just bought another order due to attitudes b day promo and now have upwards of 25+ strains i can play with in the future...im on the hunt for 4-6 solid pheno's that have the right potency, flavor and yeild. im plowing through 6 strains right now and will select the best pheno and keep it, then i will pop some more beans and pick the best pheno out of them if there is one and keep on rolling.

This is my first post here And i thought i would start by showing my newly finished Box. (still to be sanded and stained)

The front of the box:

The flowering Room:

The Veg Room:

And Storage and the vent area:

Any thoughts or ideas maybe something i may have over looked are certainly welcome!
What was your total investment? a radd ass setup you got their.
