Grow Closet Project

Hiya guys I am still really new here. I am also new to this so far I been reading e-books and watching as many dvds as I can on this. Its been almost a month of doing research and studying even made notes! I am afraid I might even went to technical and over done it maybe. Hope not, I tend to over do things sometimes. :wall: Ok so far after all this I decided to put it in motion I asked a few questions here and there.

So the project is this closet I have in my room that happens to be 8.3 feet by 21-22 inches. Its not much to work with but I have seen people do it with less. The closet will have sliding glass doors (glass on the outside). Forgive me for the dinky quick drawn blueprint. :dunce: I used the basic editor. The way I was going to do this is have 3 separate rooms/parts.

Basically one area with a wood shelve to hold the propagation tray for seedlings and clones. Then above a installed t5 florescent fixture for 2 bulbs. Then the middle area for vegetative growing for say mothers and etc. I will use a basic small homemade ebb and flow system, the bulb will be 150W MH hanging down vertically. Then for the last part the closet has a small cubby area. I bought this small hydroponic and drip thing that holds 6 plants. Here is the link to it http://cgi.ebay.com/DripTote6-3-Deluxe-Edition-Hydroponic-System-Complete_W0QQitemZ110357580486QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item110357580486&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.

I will use that for flowing I think due to space I will flower 4 in that thing, I am not sure if I can do 6 since its so small. The flowering room will have a 150W HPS bulb hanging between the plants vertically also. I will try and position the bulb between the plants. I guess when doing this I will do the Sea of green method and flower small plants.

Now for heating I am told this might be a major problem. That closet happens to have an attic entrance that I will convert to a exhaust with fan. We decided to make a new entry way and will close that one. Then at the bottom in the middle of the closet I will make a intake of good size. My room beyond the closet doors happens to have a window ac that I can turn on when needed. I will use plastic tarp of sorts to separate the rooms and cover the floors with. I will leave a opening at the top though to all parts not sure if this is okay to do?

Will paint closet flat white (as you can see work in progress), then use mylar at the bottom for the plants. The ballasts will be also in the attic if you are wondering.

So what do you guys think? Will this work and any suggestions are welcomed! I am also on a budget wont spend 100$ on one item, maybe a few all together.

you have a good design. heat is always a problem, but with a good exhaust fan and the ac in the window you should be fine. just watch with leaving openings at the top of the tarps. you don't want light from your MH bulb disturbing your flowering. but its a good setup it should work.

Thanks guys! =) Yeah as far as the opening I might go ahead and just use about 4 or 2 inches opening or just put some holes to allow air flow at the top. Its very helpful to get these replies from pros or people who have done this. Lets me know I am on the right track. :)

I think when this is all said and done I will give this grow journal a try!
