Grow Room Lighting Reccomendation nd First Time Grower Tips

I will be moving into a new home where I will have two extra bedrooms to hopefully use for growing. I currently have very limited experience, so I would like to start out somewhat small by possibly putting couple lights in each room. I was thinking to start out with 2 400w-600w metal halides in one room for flowering and 2 400w-600w hps in the other for flowering. I understand being a begginer I am most likely going to have failure but I would eventually like to get a cycle going where I can harvest ever month or two. Is this possible with the setup i mentioned? Do you have a better reccomensation? Also, I have assisted friends with indoor grows so I am somewhat familiar with the concepts of controlling co2 level and air exchange and soil ph, but by no means an expert, so any information you can offer that you possibly ran into on your first grow is much appreciated.

I suppose I should have mentioned the spare bedrooms are roughly 10x10x8.

space isn't a limiting factor for you. electrical consumption will be. you could put up to (4) 1000w hps in each 10by10 room. Though (4) 600watts would also be sufficient. If your only goal is to have two different aged flowering groups, you can do both in the same room... put all 4 HPS in just the one room so that you benefit from the multiple points of light... and so you don't have to construct an artificial wall or divider like if you were only using two. Half the garden will be 30 days ahead of the other half... and you will harvest every 30 days if you wish. The second bedroom can be used for your seed/clone/veg/mother setup. t5's or t12 flourescents will do the trick. Or you could use a single 1000w Metal Halide and deffinitely be able to keep your flower room full of plants with that. Four 600w HPS and one 1000w MH would be a very nice garden and keep you around 3400 watts + (make sure you are using air vented hoods and your normal house a.c. may be able to keep temperatures in check).

The rest of the information that you seek... is all around you... read read read :D
