Grow Tent Used to Section off a Grow Room

Hello all,
I am wondering if I were to put my 12 hour flowering plants in a grow tent would this then allow the rest of the room to be used for 16 hour plants (clones, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.) as well as allowing me to turn the light on in the room or would the light leaking in from the zipper be enough to disrupt flowering?

Thank you in advance for all your help!!!

Can you suggest a good tent?
I would love to buy Gorilla tents but I don't have that kind of money.
I am looking at using the Sun Hut Big Easy 80.

i have only used Secret Jardin tents. Bought them from Amazon. Two are holding up, 1 is kinda breaking down. Despite the one with a ripped zipper seam and a corner seam, not to mention a couple pea sized holes on the inside material, i still use it to flower with no issues.

the tent you linked should work fine

If I’m using a tent to flower or need it perfectly lightproof I make gorilla tape flaps extended over the zippers and patch any pinholes or tears as time goes on.

I also use 6” flexible duct passed through the lower intake sock holes and bent down into an upside down “U” with black air conditioner replacement foam over each end. Sometimes it takes 2 layers depending on brand. The ends are close to the floor. Cool air and very lightproof.

If not the inside of the ducts need to be black to avoid reflection.

Thanks MichiganMedGrower!

It's almost like the tents need a flap that goes over the zipper with either a second zipper or velcro to then shut out any light escaping.
I am sure Gorilla tents do that, but does anyone know of less expensive tent that does that?

All the tents will have flaws and pinholes. They are tents and they come folded into a small package. Lol. And they will wear and get damaged over time. But they are super easy and convenient to set up a small grow space.

I still use them for veg. But I converted a bedroom to be a full flower room a couple of years ago. I got sick of failing zippers and crawling around on the floor reaching in to the tent.

I forgot to say the ducts I bend are for passive intake.

You can darken the room the tent is in and put the lights on inside to find light leaks but like @The Dawg said above I go in there and have Mrs MMG seal me in. I wait 5-10 minutes for my eyes to adjust and then you can see the smallest light leak. I bring tape in to put over the holes and mark where they are in the dark.
