word. regardless of plant type, my interests in botony and little green growing things has been piqued. it's both exciting and relaxing. of course, with weed, there's a reward at the end! i'm addicted.

This is a great thread, I thought I was this way because I'm new to this....between checking new posts and my cabinet girls it's crazy....I travel in my job and I am stopping everywhere looking at lights and turning on the laptop to check new posts...I'm sure things will slooow down when the newness is gone just like anything new.. but maybe not either because when I burn my first bud from this batch I have a feeling it will just fuel the fire... so to speak.
One thing I know for sure its beats the other additctions I've had in life....booze...tons and tons of prescribed pills...white powder...and combinations of the above...been clean from all but the weed now for 6+ years and LIFE is Once Again Fun, I'm Happy, and I hear the birds sing in the morning...think I'll just keep it this way.

Hey pauliojr, I agree with you, I check on my babies throughout the day, and try to think how I can improve on things.
I was at the hospital yesterday, and as we checked in they had some plants on the counter, and I'm standing there checking em out, looking at this one (unknown species) that looked stretched....and had some yellowing leaves, and I turned to my wife and said, it looks like it needs some N added, dont you think? Needless to say, she hit me and told me to shut up!
Peace
Ps, I cant wait to get some veggies started this season.

This morning when I woke up I immediately went to my litte babies and made sure they were O.K. It was the first thing on my mind! I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to adjust the lights or if anything happened while I was asleep. Over the past few months of learning and researching, I have found growing to be quite enjoyable. It seems that even when I am out to eat I am always looking at light bulbs and saying, "Hey, these would work pretty well for vegging." I also look at objects and picture it being a grow box. It seems that growing and finding new ways to grow is always in the back of my head lol. I don't think it is a bad thing. I think that it is helping me to be more creative and over these past couple months I have learned more about lighting, nutrients, photosynthesis, humidity, trichomes, plant definincies, temperatures, spectrums, then I could ever dream of. I just thought I would share this with everyone and see if anyone does sort of the same thing in some of their idle time.

A lot of this was thanks to this very forum. If used correctly, you learn more then you ever thought you could. I'm sure a lot of newbies (including myself) thought you just threw a light on some plants and WALA!!! YOU GOT POT! Unfortunely that is not the case (unless you're lucky lol) and you have to go about learning and trying new techniques. I just wanted to extend my thanks to all of you who have helped me over these past few months so that I can now help others. You guys/girls all ROCK!!

ive been growing for a few years but only recently (last year ) got the internet ,and ive learnt lots of NEW things from this and other forums .
and yeah im the same every shop or catalouge i look in i allways find something i can use in my growroom etc ,and yes i look at other plants at my mothers and friends and i find myself diagnosing problems etc with them.its definately addictive and i still get excited when i see new buds forming on my plants ..allso the great thing is if you get bored with growing one strain you then get the new excitment of trying a new strain ,there all slightly different and its fun learning how that certain strain likes to be treated and then the BEST bit you get to smoke the end product ,which is a great reward for the time and effort you give to the plant.

Tell me about it, I am way too obsessive about my babies (hence why I call them "babies"). I check on them at least ten times a day and I named them... the last batch were the Brady Bunch kids and one named Princess Fuck-You-Up Oh Marsha was amazing!

I did the same thing here at work!!! LMAO! I asked the plant lady how she managed to keep the office plant looking so healthy with just a regular light bulb above it. We had a 15 min discussion on botany! LOL. I stopped by on the way to work this morning to pick up a new filter for our A/C and ended up spending about 15 mins just staring at new cupboards and storage bins, evaluating which would be better to grow in. Obsessed I tell you!
