im buying a grow tent and plan on using 3 gallon dirt bags to flower my plants in. how do you go about catching the run off water from these things? are they messy?

I use them, I bought a few of those huge saucers at home depot for like 78 cents a piece or something, real cheap, but they work great to catch run off.

Why bags, why just not use 3 gallon buckets? Arer there some kind of benefit to these bags and I have been missing out on them?

Yah really are you just trying to be cheap, messy, or are you growing on a scale that the bags will actually save you money. Spend the extra 10$ and grow in pots.

dirt bags are square so i can use up space a little more efficiently instead of having circular pots. but i guess i could just go ahead and use pots. thanks for the replies.

I put 6 2-0gallon grow bags in one of those underbed storage boxes. The box catches the run off and makes it easy to handle six plants. With grow bags you use you space more efficiently I think.
