Growing method

I met this guy today and we had a discussion about his method of growing. This is what he does.. He grows indoors until it's time to move them outside. He then places them outside under 24 hours of supplemental lighting.
On July 15th he takes the lights down and his plants begin the flowering process and they stay flowering until they finish giving you more time and a little better weather window come harvest time. . Is this feasible? Are the shortening days enough to keep your plants flowering and not revegging? At that time of year the days are still over 15 hours long.
I am considering trying this method but not sure about it.. He swears it works for him and his plants have never revegged and have always finished before the wet PNW fall kicks in. What are your thoughts on this method.. Really could use some expert advice.. And I'm pumped for growing season!!! Hope you all are too! Oh FYI, I got clones from this guy so I am using his clones. White Widow and Critical Kush will be what I am growing this year. Cheers! Pete

His plants are most likely semiautomatics {auto/photo crosses}. They will respond in a manner like he described.
