Growing on rented property?

I live in a college town in central coast california, and am a college student. My questions is, is it legal to grow in a rented appartment if the landlord is ok with it?

Yes, if the landlord is hands-down OK with the whole thing GO FOR IT. Just don't steal electricity or water and you're fine. If you're going to set up an entire room it might be a good idea to run it by the land lord first. Unless it's a tent or something non-invasive to the property. Like if you plan on attaching things to surfaces via screws, nails what-have-you or change something or add something structural it's best to let the LL know.

If the owner is ok with it then go for it but like mentioned keep in touch with the landlord and make sure each step is ok.

would that fuck me?
only if u have illegal plant numbers and get busted. or if ur landlord gets a grudge against u, and calls the cops on u. i believe he CAN kick u out if he doesnt like it, since its his property.

maybe try having him sign something that says hes ok with it, as long as it is 100% legal, and for personal use. then he cannot say he didnt know about it, and kick u out. he may not sign it though haha.

or maybe invite him in to see the setup, then secretly take a pic of him looking at the plants. if he ever pulls that "i didnt know" thing, break out the pics. its ur apartment, so its legal to take a pic of em inside :-P

Sounds like vandalism to me, but I would get a hold of a local lawyer who is cannabis friendly and ask.
Good luck

personally i would not want risk growing in someone elses dwelling. too many factors and too much to lose. i would do it outside somewhere or wait until you have a more suitable option.

i have never rented a house but have had maint and the landlord come in while i was not home in several apts i had. basically you know you are taking risks growing in an apt as you said too much factors with the smell and being discovered. its up to you whether you deem it a worthwhile venture.
