dude,..dont funk with this stuff,....you may as well be pushing LSD. im all about marijuana, for medical,religious and any other self spiritualistic stuff,..but my argument for pot always revolves around "health" as it is compared to all those "other" drugs,.im just not cool with all that other crap anymore,..including cigarettes and liquor. when i was in high school,..i did sell sugar cubes,..but man,..its pot or die bro.
warnings of the danger is important. but adults should have the right to ingest anything they wish. and as a rule, i should think anything that grows right out of the planet should be legal, for sure.

it's your body, just be responsible.

the fact is, shrooms will open your eyes, man. just be smart about it.

can you use an autoclave instead of a pressure cooker if i have one? i just ordered three spore syringes from spores101.com and got a pretty decent deal, put in mycoflash in for a discount code and save $5 too. im going to build a do-it-yourself glovebox for my grow. i have no experience but i am good at aseptic methods having been a science major in undergrad and grad school.

ah ok thanks, but what are the measurements for shrooms then, because i dont know what u mean by 1/16 and 1/8 for shrooms

we used to always go by grams....many people talk of doing like 8 gr wihich is about 1/4 oz...so an 1/8 is like 4g and 1/16 like 2....I think...I might be wrong....i am not a hardcore user, and I like 2-3g....and have taken up to 6g and that was just a lot of fun.

ive been growing shrooms for about 4-5 years, you can sterilize the jars with a big metal pot as long as you put enough water in it and make sure it steams like crazy for atleast an hour. the trips off my golden teachers last about 10 hours, i grow them in wild bird seed and sometimes vermiculite. my avatar pic is a recent one i grew, with the giant plants in the background. if you need any help, let me know cus ive experimented with pf, casings, and all the good stuff.

i just learned the PF TEK from shroomery but i fall a little short on the lingo. Casings, flood, all that ish. Teach me please. I have three strains, a Golden Teacher, Blue Meanie and Plantasia, in syringes right now ready to get my jars and vermiculite and perlite and brown rice flour going and sterilized. I must research humidity requirements and light requirements and how to continue to harvest these after the first crop comes off. Teach me please!!!

okay check it out, heres what shroomery taught me over the past years

lets say you're making 8 jars of vermiculite/brown rice flour:

-step 1: preparing the substrate

use 2 cups verm, 1 cup brf, 1 cup water - mixed together nicely

put the stuff in the jars, but leave about 3 inches of space up top, then fill those 3 inches with DRY vermiculite.

seal the jars, poke 2 holes on each side of the lid near the edge

cover the jars in aluminum foil

pressure cook for 1 hour & let them sit for 5 hours to cool

-step 2: inoculation

make a glovebox (research it on shroomery, theyre easy and crucial)

put everything in the glovebox including a bottle of lysol to spray

spray lysol around and inoculate the jars with the syringes, use 1cc per hole in each lid you made

once youre done, put them in your incubator (i use a fish tank heater and 2 rubber maid tubs, this can also be found on shroomery)
let them incubate for about 1-2 weeks, white mycelium hyphaes will reach around the entire jar, once the jar is completely covered - take it out and fill the jar with water and a tiny tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, then put the filled jar in the fridge for 24 hours (this rejuvinates the mycelium with fresh water to produce shrooms, the fridge part "cold shocks" them into fruit mode, just dont put them in the freezer)

-step 3: fruiting

after you take it out, put it in your fruiting chamber (i use a plastic igloo), the fruiting chamber should have 4-5 inches of sopping wet perlite in it, you can even add a teeny 1cm reservoir of water at the bottom, but no more than 1 or 2cm.

fan the chamber 2-3x daily and in 1 week it will produce pins, the pins will turn into giant shrooms as long as you fan them and dont mess anything up.

-step 4: harvesting

for harvesting, pick off the shrooms from the mycelium cake and make sure not to leave ANY residual shroom or they will rot.
after harvesting, take the cake and "dunk" it, which is what you did when you took it out of the incubator - fill its original jar with water and a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to prevent infection and then put it in the fridge for 24 hours. if you want even better results, you can roll the cake in sterilized vermiculite
after dunking it, that way fresh mycelium will grow on it and have more substrate to make shrooms with.

as for temperatures, the incubator should be between 80-84 and the fruiting chamber should be between 70-74. i think thats about all you need to get started, let me know if anything confused you

lol, it all still confuses me but so did weed cultivation which got a lot easier with knowledge. im going to have to research the glovebox and incubation stuff but all in all that was a great help. after the shrooms grow on the medium and cover it does it like regenerate and grow again or is there a step after that? thanks for all your help.

when the mycelium goes through about 4 to 5 flushes of shrooms, itll eventually get weaker and produce tiny shrooms and then nothing at all. the way to produce more mycelium is to harvest the spores that can be found under the cap of each shroom. a simple pf tek faq from shroomery would do you wonders. most have pictures and theyre really easy and simple. my mini-faq was just a synopsis of all the things youll be reading about. you can get about an ounce off each cake, 5 to 15 grams per flush. just remember to dunk&roll after each flush.

hate to sound lazy or ask too many questions, which i should be researching myself, but do you know of any good youtube videos out there going over this process? i like videos. and is there any one strain that is always worth growing for once reason (yield, strength, difficulty) or another?

im not familiar with many videos, but you might find one or two on shroomery. as for strains, ive had the best success growing Lipa Yai, Mazapatec, and Amazonian. next best is Golden Teachers, just make sure to stay away from Burma - they are a horrible strain and wont yield for shit.

i guess that depends on the size of each strain and each individual mushroom. about how much of the syringe should be used in each jar? how many jars can i use with one syringe?

What do you mean by, "fanning" the fruiting chamber.

My mycelium is about 2 days from pinning, just never understood the whole "fan" thing.
