i went into my woods today to look for a good spot to put my pot in and there really isnt any good spots its good for security because its so thick but the best spot will probably only get full sunlight at about noon then in the shade pretty much all day can i still get good buds?

just try and get as much sun as possable. and camoflague your plants as well as you can then come september you'll have good buds (a high potash fertilizer from late july)

Trust me, if you are not getting 16-18 or more hours of light your plant is not going to be very big nor is your yield going to be very high. Consider setting up an indoor garden if you have an extra $2000 and some time.

obviously the more sun it gets the better but it will grow great with just an hour or 2 of direct sunlight aslong as it can get a decent amount of indirect light just try an cut back a few plants around your lady and get as much light as possible

Deep shade is a no no.... Dappled shade is much better. Passing shade will actually make it grow taller.

In nurseries it is quite common to put up shade in strips over the plants being produced.... the sun hits them...they like it....then the induced shade hits them and makes them REACH for the coming sun.... they grow faster with some shade than strictly pure sunlight.

as long as your plant gets a few hours a direct sunlight a day with the rest of the day light shade it will be fine... my plants were in the same boat in 2metres tall.

1 x 400 w HPS =$150
1 x 400 w MH = $145
4 x 600 mm x 300 mm black plastic crates = $80
Irrigation hose + fittings = $25
Timer, power board and cords =$50
Water pump, fan, water heater and aerator = $80
Veg/bloom base nutes, PK 13/14, potash = $100
White plastic, duct tape = $20
Intake/exhaust fans, controller and duct = $150

$2000?! I was getting a over a pound of weed every 3 months from a $800 wardrobe setup

I've heard about people hiding plants in treetops but I don't know how well that would work.

what about medium cost? bug and disease control? cost of genetics? power bill and gas money/time cost getting it all together?

O.k I forgot medium. All $30 worth. I spent more on my first Hydroponic setup, but that was from impulse buying too many flashy nutrient mixes.

I use praying manti to keep the bugs down and I have yet to run into disease after 3 years growing. Good housekeeping.

Got a lucky plant from 50 bagseeds.

Now that I've installed CFL's in my house and switched to gas hot water I pay less on utilities than before I grew. The guy at the hydro store drills all the holes and sets it up in shop first because I help him out with "things". If you ask nicely most hydro store guys will drill holes and plug in fittings. It might take two hours to go to the hydro store, buy what you need, get home and set it up. My time doesn't cost a cent anyway as growing weed is a (fucking great) hobby, not a job.

My hydro store is selling 100w 2700k CFLs that equal 400w for $77 including lamp holder. Three of them would be the equivalent of 1200w and would only cost $231. if you were running CFL's you wouldn't have a heat issue which would lessen the need for ventilation (eg. smaller/cheaper fans & ducts) I'm sure if you grew in soil as well you could get costs down closer to $500. If you bought used equipment and shopped around at hardware stores etc, you could do it for a few hundred bucks.
