NYCD x Ms Universe on Bigblocks. Canna Flores A + B or Coco A + B (they both work fine for me).
NYCD x Ms Universe on Bigblocks continued, week 10 flowering.
WOW! Awesome results. How long did you veg?
I wasn't sure on the big blocks, I'm using the small cubes in a plant pot. What made you decide to use those as opposed to what I used or even the grodan slabs?
Thank you JDMase!
The plants vegged for about three weeks. I chose the big blocks over slabs because they are easier to prepare (lay 'm on the floor and go) because of mobility and since i water by hand i like a bigger medium. This is my first run on big blocks and i couldn't be happier. There is absolutely no more forgiving medium i have run across and i neglected the plants big time.
Where can I find that Tampa cut of Crippy?
Amazing! Your picthres have disappeared for some reason though!? If possibly upload them to RIU so I can show them to my disbelieving friends that think rock wool is crappy!? Thanks!
They disappeared because i got banned and they deleted my acount. Here are some pictures from the same plants a few days before i harvested them.
And here is a picture of my current round:
I tossed about a 100 gallon water in the bucket, Ec 1.6 and pH 5.3. Strain: clones from Soma's NYCD x Ms. Universe.
I upgraded to a ebb and flow system with two plunger pumps and a water reservoir of 200 liters. I pump the water in the leak tray until the rock-wool big blocks are flooded and pump the water out again.
The cubes suck up as much water as they can retain, so i only have to flood a few times a week.
Looks like a pretty good system! I recently invested in a gravity drip feed system. My plants liked the regularity but it needs to be topped up as I realised it only gives a tiny 1.2 litres PER DAY. Definitely not enough. Ah well, it got me by whilst I was away!
What was the brand you went for? Was it expensive?
If you can get away from it that is definitely a plus, but i have noticed too that feeding the blocks from the top with a drip feed system is not ideal.
The ebb and flow system i use is not at all expensive, what you need is a leak tray that is waterproof, a water-reservoir and two plunger pumps. One to pump the water in the leak tray and the other to pump it back into the water-tank (which can be set with timers too). Make sure you flood until the blocks are under water, so they get completely saturated, which is a huge advantage of this system compared to drip feeding in my opinion.
What is your view on non-recyclable plastics?
That's leaving little oxygen at all.
That is no problem for DWC neither.
