Hey guys,
Let me first say that this is a totally hypothetical question. ;)

Background:
4w x 2d x 4h grow area
T5 for seedlings.
400w MH/HPS fo veg/flower

Say I've had my 2 week old seedlings under 18/6 light. I read that 18/6 will make them grow taller while 24/0 will make them shorter and bushier. With pot/light taken into account I would have about 2 - 2.5 ft of grow space so I'd like to keep them as small as possible while yielding the most.

First of all is the 18/6 tall 24/0 short/bushy statement true?

Secondly, they've been in 18/6 for 2 weeks. If the statement were true and I switched them to 24/0 would I hermie them? They're currently under a T5.

Thanks a lot guys!!

right now i'd stick to your light schedule and try a new one on ur next grow and see whats better for you.

your right, it could hermie it...any stress can add to the chance of turning hermie

You're fine to take them up to 24/7 - it is very hard to stress a plant in veg, flower is where they get picky.

24/7 does make a plant shorter and bushier, but not by a ton.

If I were in your situation I'd switch to 24/7.

From my experience, 24/7 and 18/6 affect nothing but ur power bill, but that's just me, so basically, i'm sayin ive personallly found no truth to 24/7 making them shorter. If u wanna use the most of ur 2feet of space, flower when theyre a foot tall or a bit less, and lst or top them or both.

I think I'm going to leave my current plants in 18/6 and then move the next round up to 24/0 next week. Thanks a lot for the help, I really appreciate it.
