Hang or mesh drying rack net?

I tend to hang for 5-7 days then trim the buds off the main stalks and have them on the drying nets I have a 3 teir but could extend it just by adding another on top I find it easier to then quickly transfer to a bucket for curing.

I wouldnt call that a popcorn bud
Well its at the very bottom of the plant and is receiving very little light compared to all the stuff up top.. not sure how you define the term. Either way, it's from a part of the plant that would normally have been lollipop'd. That bud wouldn't exist if I'd lollipop'd

An example from my current run of how lovely popcorn can be.
Great example indeed ....I've literally seen people talk about smaller popcorn nuggs like there garbage ...lol...nice dense sugar coated popcorn nuggs are fine with me ...and anything that's super tiny or Larfy goes to hash and extracts ....including trim....

Guarantee a person wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a bowl or joint filled with sweet popcorn opposed to a piece of a donkey dick cola .....popcorn FTW

Paper plates with round pieces of parchment slightly larger over them, sitting on something to allow air under the plate. A couple paper towel cores work well. Nets or screens allow pieces and trichs to pass through. Besides, you want the drying to be somewhat gradual. The paper plate slowly conducts moisture away. I use the same plates and parchment over and over. You can extract any resin that may build up over time from them if you want. Not much seems to build up though actually. Also when they get closer to dry I'll put another round piece of parchment on top, to slow the drying so it's more even rather than the outsides first. And by parchment I mean the pure paper type, not silicone type which moisture won't pass through. Just cheap grocery store parchment.

They look great. Looks like they're starting to foxtail just a bit; which to me is an indication that they are close to done. Very pretty.
Thanks a lot! Definitely foxtailing... partially from almost being almost done and partially from a stressful 4 days a couple weeks ago where she dealt with high Temps and some pH induced lockout. She recovered nicely, but she continues to foxtail . She won't win any prettiest bud awards, but she is frosty, sticky as hell, smells like fruity heaven and I'm super sad I didn't clone this pheno.. lol

Does anyone run exhaust fans when drying in a tent ? Or will a small oculating fan suffice ?
my dry room is a 2x4 tent inside of a closet. I duct air from the tent with my stink sock inside to a custom vent at the top of the closet door into the room(my jam room) I keep a negative pressure inside the tent to avoid stink from getting to the room(thats the idea anyways) I also have a small clip fan inside the tent up in the corner on low just to keep it all moving around, stale air is an enemy to mj.

the jam room has a dehumidifier and ac and baseboard heat and another stink sock to keep it all right

Well I believe that each depend on environment, time and reason.
If you live in a particularly humid region you would benefit from the extra air flow of a mesh and if you want a slower dry you would string em up, so:

Mesh
Pro
More organisation if growing multiple strains or a very large amount

Grey area
Faster dry (especially if there is a fan under or nearby)

Con
Extra abrasion on buds so some crystal loss is a possibility
$$$
Some can be quite big and take up space
Need a relatively secure spot to place it that also allows for its shape
Inattentiveness can take you out of cure zone

Hang
Pro
If you have a space to grow you have a space to hang
String is relatively cheap and you could have some left over from training to use
Very little contact from cut to container

Grey area
Slower dry, this can be beneficial for low humidity

Con
Slower dry for humid zones can allow mold
There may be a lack of space if growing a large amount
Less organisation
Knot tying skill may be needed based on amount :bigjoint:

It all comes down to the space you're drying in and if it's for you or if it needs to go out the door as soon as possible. Maybe try a test batch on it next time you can use it and see what you prefer.
I have a question I built my own drying rack out of 2x3’s and hardware cloth and I’m wondering where I need to put it to let my ears of popcorn dry like how high up if it needs a sunny place to dry etc so far for me it’s been high humidity weather where I live this is my first time growing and harvesting and drying my own popcorn so it’s all new to me but I love experimenting with this type of stuff to see how it goes

you want low light, it doesn't have to be dark, but no direct sunlight. you want a light breeze in the general area, like a fan blowing into a corner, not directly onto your rack. if the humidity is very high, like over 70%, you might want to look into a small peltier dehumidifier, if your rack is in an enclosed area like a closet. if its in a larger area, it will just take longer, and you'll have to turn them over a couple of times a day to stop mold. if you want it to dry right, you want to give it 5 to 7 days at 65 to 75F, and about 60% rh, turning it daily if its on a rack. when it starts to feel crunchy outside but still marshmallowy inside, I like to put it in a paper bag and close it up till they soften up again, then open it till they start to feel dry again, back and forth for 2 or 3 days, then into jars
