Im bout to harvest one plant this weekend so I’m trying to get some different ideas from some experienced growers..I’m trying to try something different so if y’all can chime in sure would appreciate it.. Just let me know how y’all do yours good or bad I wanna hear them ,Thank Y’all ahead of time.. Here is a couple pics of trichs..My new camera from Camkix still have more zoom to go but since I’m driving 1 1/2 hours to work and from work every day I haven’t had time to play with it but I’m off this weekend sorry for the crappy picks6FCCD37D-9CB9-4775-B624-28E6B00C2817.jpeg87082C8F-A7D7-4B96-8B88-E6CFECA91D12.jpeg68F01255-38E2-4FB5-B86D-15C1CEC07988.jpeg

There's a lot of important single steps to harvesting. A big one is to remove all leaves that don't have at least a decent amount of resin. Buds dried with all of the leaf left on will smell like leaf no matter how killer it might have been to start.

Let me ask u this do u chop before lights out or it don’t matter??? Also does the humidity have to be high or low??

Chop when they are done and you have time. Doesn't matter if it's after a dark period or light period. Humidity being low helps though, as does waiting a few days after you last water them. That way they dry out a bit easier. I chop, then trim them at that time. Don't chop more than I can trim. I like to trim them up good while they are fresh because it's easier.

So as long as I give PH’d water on the last water should be good huh???

No sense ph-ing water for plants that are finished; the buds will ripen either way. Lights out light on doesn't make any difference at all but I prefer to pull a plant I intend to chop out of the bloom room for a day and leave her in the dark until I'm ready to do it. Mostly due to my wierd work schedule; lights are off during the day when I have more time to spend trimming.
Harvesting/curing methods can make or break your end product. It's actually a bit trickier at first than it seems. Hang drying and curing are not separate processes; they occur at the same time so the longer you can hang dry your plant the better the end flavor will be. To save you some trial and error here's a few helpful hints:
1. Take your time; cannot rush this

2. Leave the plant as whole as possible; don't cut it all up into pieces. Start at the bottom cutting off any lowers you plan to use for concentrate or butter but leave on a short length of branch to hang the plant from once finished trimming. Cut the main stem only once at its thickest point if you can as the final step which kills the plant.

3. Trim in stages: begin by cutting off all the fans. Snip off any leaves that show a stem and any leaf tips that do not visibly have trichomes. Leave the sugar leaves on the bud until after it is totally dry.

4. Hang the plant in a semi enclosed space like a closet or grow tent. Any space that gets passive air supply without much circulation is good. You want temps & humidity to be as close to normal as possible. High heat and moisture are very very bad!

5. It should take 7 to 10 days to dry the bud completely. Do not put buds in a jar until the stems snap when you bend them. If the stem bends over without breaking it's not done drying yet. Overdrying is much better than underdrying. Err on the dry side.

6. When stems are brittle trim off the sugar leaf & drop the buds into a jar. Fill the jar no more than 3/4 of the way full and place the lid on top but don't seal up the jar yet. The next day open the jar and put your nose in there to get a good whiff. If it smells like hay that is mold; you fucked up & jarred your shit too early. If it smells like some dankass weed you did right & now you can seal the jars up tight. That's it; the bud will get even more potent and dank smelling after a few more weeks. Add a boveda pack for long term storage.
Use sugar leaf trims to make hash, butter, or drysift it like I do for the win. Good luck & happy harvesting

Can't tell; you really do need a handheld microscope to see the actual color of the resin heads. Picking too early and jarring too early are the main reasons for a shitty cure so wait as long as you can to do either. The most complex flavor develops in the final weeks; really pays to wait until full ripeness. Doesn't have to be showing amber trichs either but seeing all cloudy trichome heads indicates the harvest window is open.
I have fucked up my bud more times than I want to admit and found the secret is simply to be patient and wait until it's done. Learn about hash, concentrate, and/or edible making to get yourself through desperate times.

I’ll take a better pic in the AM my camera zooms more than that I was running late for work pic does kinda suck though ... I have to get up a little early cuz I have to water in the morning so I will have a better pic

I can tell by the way the bud looks if it is ready or not. If you can't zoom in enough to see the individual heads take one further away without the hps or just use a flash. You want to see all the white pistils receded back into the bud.

I see quite a few that still look clear and not a single amber. I always wait until more are cloudy and you can see a few amber.

When she is ready, hang her from the yard arms. lol. I believe in hanging the entire plant root and all upside down by the root, until nearly dry. then trim jar, enjoy. Trichomes continue growing while root is intact. You can actually watch the thc grow while plant is trying to survive hanging upside down from the gallows.

This is not correct. Like, at all. If your bud smells like leaf, you fucked up drying and curing. Has absolutely nothing to do with leaving the leaves on. If anything, more likely to smell like hay from taking too much off and it drying out too much/too fast.
So should wait another week than huh
I would say at least a week.

Nothing like premature bud! I did see a cpl Amber heads. But I'd let it go for aleast another week and check the trichs again. Good to be patient. Whenever I get the urge to chop early I just close the door and try to forget about it and occupy my time doing something else. Not worth it to chop early. Ya been growing for this long, what's another week :) get that bud nice and stoney. I like to chop the whole plant take off the big fan leaves hang for 3 days. Then retrim and collect some of the smaller leaves and hang again for 3 more days. And then I chop off the main branches dry for another day or 2. Destem the bud and do a final trim. And jar from there
