I read that it is when the buds turn orange, or red, with 70% 75% of them being that color, it's time to harvest. My question is how long does it take for the flowers to turn red once they apprear? Mine took foreEver.;-)

Its not the buds that turn orange, or red, its the white hairs (pistels) that start to turn a brown orange color. Keep your eye on the trichomes and see when they turn half amber half milk white, that will give you a half body half mental high, if you wate for the whole plant to turn red/orange it will already be dead. You have a 5 day period for peak harvest. Good luck

I Asked because my pistils never did turn orange or red a month or two, after they opened. The reason I said 70%-75% , the article mentioned something like the THC changes to another chemical that lowers the grade of the harvestAnd make sure no more piltils turn color at once. My harvest was lower THC because I did'nt get the males out quick enough (stupid me), it kind of pissed me off. The next grow is already germinating, planted tomorrow ( white widow seed I picked up). Thank you for thhe help. I may call again about a new problem.

We have always harvested when the trichomes are mostly amber, depending on factors like weather, rippers or the shape of the girls, bud form. the redness of the 'hairs' just gives you a heads up tp be lookin close at your girls. Has anyone had powdery mildew issues and tried something called GreenCure?
