Has anyone grown out R4 seeds? (cbd)

I was wondering if anyone has grown out some R4 seeds.. I have not seen one forum post about anyone actually growing it.. and the seeds have been around for like a year +/-.

Anyways, I got some R4 back when it was still in stock and there are some decent looking seeds in it which I may try to grow.
Only reluctance is that I've heard the seeds are totally unstable and might not have any CBD at all... something like 1 out of 50 would be decent cbd content.

Anyone have some more info? Thanks!

Hello Multipass,
How many seeds did you find in what you have or had? I am in Washington State and am legally authorized to grow MMJ and would love to get my hands on some R4 seeds to help treat my prostate cancer. I don't care if the rumor is they are unstable genetically. There is only one way to find out...grow it out. I can grow from a couple seeds and create more feminized seeds from that one plant. If you can spare a couple seeds I would be very grateful. Send to D. Squires, 900 Bentley Rd, Colville, WA 99114
If it turns out to be high CBD I would send you some seeds back if you like. Best Regards, DRS

hard to believe only 1 of 50 seeds is viable. i have some r4 seeds myself and am looking forward to growing this spring but i would like to know how long they take and how big they get. i suppose i will grow in pots in the greenhouse and hope they don't take too long as the season here is very short.
drs, how do you grow more seeds, just let them go? i assume these plants can be cloned? i have some pollen in the freezer but it is from some auto/dwarf plants so i need to get some indica growing. i have vaped it a few times and it really helped with the neuropathic/back pain.
oh, found this.be sure you have your expert card to grow this one... just what constitutes an expert grower?

Don't waste your money is my opinion. I bought 2 packs, which was the max that they would allow, the day after the cup. Since then 4 seeds failed to germ and I am currently trying the last 2, but they look like duds too. I paid over $10/seed too. I wonder if Greenwerkz has a wood shed out back..... I'm pissed. I needed a pure CBD strain for my pops....

Hey CBD fans =)

Current R4 lady is 60 days veg and 32 days flowering.

Here's what I've come to find so far with her..
-heavy indica
-very short, under a foot tall (topped half the plant pretty late just as a test)
-grows into itself
-super fat and sturdy stems (bigger stems than other plants 3-4 times the size)
-cloned easily
-holds water for VERY long time
-very powerful root system
-the leaves are sorta mutant, as seen in the r4 pic on their website
-absent of (many/most) terpenes when touching/smelling resin
-yield will not be great

Cool. Did you start from seed? If so, when did you buy them if you don't mind my asking.

I have one 2 weeks in at this point. Nnothing to remark on other than short and stocky. Minor mutations in leaves, showing mosiac variegation. NOT TMV! Slow growing. No high hopes with this but ours will get tested. as will our Dude's Tange, with a 1:1 tested hybrids, all 4.

Boy, I would sure love to get a cutting! My wife has MS, Lyme, seizures, chronic pain and in a wheelchair. She has a hard time getting relief even though her usage is very higgh. A seed or two would also most welcome...

Whatever happened to all the free seeds and clone BS that greenwerkz was spouting off about open source for the med community? I'll still buy and try seeds if I ever get a chance but it sure sounds like this should be a clone only strain.

Oregon doesn't have high CBD strains? R4 sounds mostly like a disappointment outside the original mother. There are a few of other mainstream breeders that released CBD strains recently. Bodhi and GG and 303 have had recent CBD strains in seed form that I know of. For R4 you can try the Denver cup in April but the tickets are almost sold out.

Frogster, if you have a red card, Natural Mystic in CO Springs has the Tora Bora which is 15%CBD:8%THC. Also, I'm thinking The Tree House has some CBD rich buds in flower -not sure when they will be ripe. But if you're looking for ultra high CBD with little THC, then you are looking for Charlottes Web, which can be found in CO Springs, but I hear there are so many CBD refugees in the Springs that the supply of pure CBD (Charlotte's Web strain) is going to them currently and is in a shortag - that's the poor folks with the epileptic kids that are moving here to get access to CBD for the kids after seeing the CNN special.

Up in Denver RiverRock has CBD rich stuff, but the only place I know that has pure CBD is Greenwerkz with their R4.

I have been smoking some r4 from greenwerks. But from my research if you have cancer you need a combination of both thc and cbd. I think the charlottes web and r4, are better for seizure activity. I make the oil for cancer. But it is taken orally and not smoked will not cure cancer. Then I suggest to my clients that they get as much r4 as they can to supplement either by smoking it or making a tincture. The most efficient way to dose the r4 is to take it internally. In fact the guys at Greenwerks told me the best way to take the r4 if you have cancer is to grind up 1/8 to 1/4 gram/day of bud and ingest it in a smoothie or in a salad. That will also help your Aunt increase her dosage of the higher thc oil. The CBD has a modulating affect. I believe the best meds for cancer is the oil with 1:1 ratio of cbd and thc. She can also try the dixie dew drops as a supplement but I do not think that is potent enough if she has cancer. I know that kind Lovedispensary has a purple diesel oil that is high in both cbd and thc and that would be great for your Aunt. In fact I think they are in Colorado Springs. She may have to start off slowly on the oil and build up a tolerance but that would be the best option for her unless she absolutely will not tolerate being high. But perhaps better high than dead. And it will probably relieve some anxiety as well. Hope that helps. Rick Simpson has a video Run for the Cure that talks about dosing. It is on youtube.

On the topic of r4. I was in line to get some seeds from Greenwerks this Christmas and they are not releasing any seeds. I have heard it is a very difficult strain to germinate and finicky to grow. I have read about many people not getting viable seeds. But if anyone here has a clone I would love to try it also. I live in Glenwood Springs and I can get down to Denver if it is available. I have some cbd crew critical mass and nordle coming from England and plan on starting them immediately. I would be happy to do some trading. They will be 1:1 ratios and look like very nice plants with good yields.

I will not have any available though for a month or so. But R4 and Tora Borax should be open sourced. Our Dudes Range, 1:1, is ours alone and will be used in more breeding. These will all be worked into stable medical seed varieties.

Peace

Homebrew420: That would be great. I have heard that r4 is very difficult to grow. I have 5 years experience growing but I have a modified bubbler system and all of my strains run the same nutes. This is a little problem even now as one strain definitely likes more cal/mag than the others. How hard is the r4 to grow? Also, I am growing the strain freedom baby aka harlequin jo from Gage. But they have yet to go into flower and they are not guaranteed to have high cbd. I have 2 females (I think from pre-sexing) and they are almost big enough to get some clones. If you are interested in that strain let me know. It is a cross between Harlequin and Joseph OG. Also what lab do you use to test. I suspect that I will have to test my girls to see if they express the high cbd content I am looking for.

hi mountain girl, just replied to you in another post lol. Yeah I struck out with $80 worth of fem R4 seeds, I wouldn't waste my money. Do you know if Greenwerkz will sell clones of R4? I haven't been there in awhile.

@ Homebrew. Brother, I would very much like a cut of the R4 if it pans out and you are willing. I already have the Tora Bora. She's purty... I also have a 1:1 sativa snow goddess pheno that I found with 8%CBD:8%THC tastes like buttered popcorn. If you are interested I'll get a cut to you.

Hey,
Yes I started from seed. I bought them something like 6 months ago +/-.. Not 100% sure.
I have 3 R4 bag seeds, and 3 R4 "official" seeds in their packages.
When I was at the shop, one of their awesome employees went through 10-15 packets looking for decent viable seeds.

That's cool, thanks MP. I think I was actually the first retail customer that bought them the first day they were available. I'm sure they didn't know the were junk..... of course, first they said they would be free..... that didn't work out. I plan to speak with them soon and see what the chances of getting a cut from the mother are. Do you plan to lab test?

Hi Multipass: Do you by chance have any clones or cuttings of the r4 that you would be willing to part with? I am heading to Denver on the Jan. 31st and could meet up with you if that were at all possible. Also I would be very interested in a grow report on the strain. Have you finished a cycle yet?
