My grows are well documented
And id be thrilled with that. Im not about all this ill beat your yield led vs hps bull shit. But now if we are talking quality of bud, I'm all about that. Right now I'm getting a little above 1 3/4 unit per 1000 in a 4x4 on a 24 day veg with co2. If i could hit 2 units id jump out of my socks.
Those are my well documented numbers with a top shelf strain, not some swag.

note youre using well over twice the wattage per square foot of captain and getting less yield
So the fuck what. Im not in competition with him or with your dumb ass. There is so much more you left out of your little equation, but your all about trying to make people feel like shit with your big led vs hps talk. Weird fuck.

All competition aside, if you were just looking to improve your personal best, I feel that with a proper COB setup you would be doing well over 2 without changing a damn thing. Same or less watts.

Im only vegging my plants for 24 days bro. If you guys took that into consideration you'd realize that I'm doing just fine. And i think you are right, if i took a 800 watt cob unit and nailed a 5x5 foot print id do 2 pounds an 800 watt fixture with the same veg time. Im not in this thread to see who's dick is bigger, I'm really not.

settle down man

were discussing efficacy of the various lighting techs. just because youre happy with your current yield dont melt on me when i convert it to actual numbers for you. wasnt dissing on your shit, but the discussion right now is all about numbers

I'm not here to dick measure either but I keep hearing there is more than just GPW and efficiency is over rated. Let's talk yield per sq/ft and what it costs to do it.

But there are things your not taking in account for, and gardening is the biggest one. Its like that one guy thats around you know who I'm talking about. He like some wind up rabbit that once you wind the knob on his back he spins in circles saying" gram per watt gram per watt gram per watt".

Not trying to knock your yield at all... 1.75 is awesome for that short of veg. Props for that!

Just thinking out loud..
If you had a better light source what could you pull?
That was the question that drove me to building DIY lights.

I truly don't think its about a "better" light source more so then getting a bigger foot print for my situation. I love all the lights cobs too so much i already dropped 10 grand with them probably 7 months ago.

So @a mongo frog, you clearly have finished harvests under cob, but as the thread title asks - have you also finished under DE HPS?

I get a little tired of hearing the benefits are not worth the extra costs. Every upgrade I've made in lighting source with LED has paid for it self in a single grow with the extra yield.
Well you have to remember the people saying that don't even have a cob fixture to compare too. So they don't know. I tried explaining to a guy couple pages back about dropping wattage and gaining foot print but he said 7000 dollars a year isn't a big savings to bigger scale gardeners. Then shit broke loose and i think it led to all what were talking about tonight.
