As a result of ongoing litigation and uncertainty arising from court decisions, Health Canada will treat the following Authorizations to Possess, Personal-Use Production Licences, and Designated-Person Production Licences as extending beyond March 31, 2014 until a decision in Allard is rendered. As per the Federal Court interim injunction, the following criteria must be met:

  • Individuals must have held a valid Authorizations to Possess under the MMAR on March 21, 2014.
  • Individuals must have held a valid Personal-Use Production Licence or Designated-Person Production Licence under the MMAR on, or after, September 30, 2013, where there is also an associated valid ATP as of March 21, 2014.
Individuals with a medical need who do not fall within the scope of this court order and who have the support of a licensed healthcare practitioner may register with a licensed producer under the MMPR. See below for information on how to access marijuana for medical purposes from a licensed producer.

LOL I have a ATP stamped March 20th 2014 :-) but don't have a grow license, drag so guess it's still mmpr for me or the black market.

My daughter-in-law is in the same situation. It's their (HC) way of putting dispensaries and CC's out of business. All this time, money and bs spent on something that will be legal in 18 months!

Departmental Statement on Court Injunction and Medical Marijuana
March 31, 2014

OTTAWA - The Government of Canada intends to appeal the Federal Court's order in the Allard case.

As a result of the court's injunction, the persons who were previously authorized to grow marijuana under the old Marihuana Medical Access Regulations (MMAR), who meet the terms of the Court order, will be able to continue to do so on an interim basis until the Court issues a final decision.

After April 1st, Health Canada will no longer be in the business of providing marijuana. We will not be issuing further licenses to individuals, and we will no longer be subsidizing marijuana use.

We want to remind Canadians that marijuana is not an approved drug or medicine in Canada. Health Canada does not endorse its use.

Canadians with questions can contact Health Canada at 1-866-337-7705 or [email protected]

Well I guess I go from patient to criminal tomorrow. Thanks Harper. I almost wish I never went "legal" now, it's been more headaches and troubles than it's been worth.

Hey joy...if you really can't afford your medicine you don't have "reasonable access". I wouldn't hesitate growing if I owned my own place. Not saying break the law, but...

But the punishment could be worse for renting, mandatory minimums and all...they aren't going to do a fuckin thing, they are bullies.

So this sounds like if one didn't renew after September 2013, forget it. My friend licence was up end January, (ATP plus her DPL), so she didn't renew cuz she thought, as everyone did, that it would end March 31. I would appreciate anyone's feedback, thank you.

I,m sure that's what HC was counting on...many letting their paper elapse..and being forced into the MMPr....via technicality
and we probably haven't seen HC last moves yet, but if you can stand your ground , do so, and lawyer up if your in limbo....and then go ahead....
leave the lawyer deal with HC in the event...they come a calling..

It should also be illegal for LP's to inform HC on who is buying and how much...? Don't let them treat you like the stoners they think you are...
