Hello
you must live in a cold place if you need to heat your room. Depending on what kind of lights your going to use HPS & MH lights produce quite a bit of heat on there own. My room is 4x8x6 and I run 2 85watt CFL grow lights and it stays constant 85 degrees.

What kind of lights you plan to use?

well its a concrete room with a layer of plastic sealing the room. and its in the basement.... meaning its the only room down there, its basically like a room concrete block under the house.... so its kinda col. but i live in wa state. so right now its still a bit chilly. but when summer rolls around it will be good. I have 2 40 watt flourescent tubes right now. when the plants get bigger it will become 4 tubes. im guessing around the cups its good temp around 70 ? (dont have a thermometer yet) but in the room in general, feels like 55.

Home depot has some great heaters for about $30 (I have Holmes from H/D twin ceramic). Try and keep your temp at 65 degrees when light are off & 78 to 85 degrees when light are on. And if your plants are on cement I would suggest putting a 1 inch thick layer of styrofoam under to keep pots insulated from the cold floor. And if your going to use tube FL's I would drape white Mylar plastic to help reflect light. Good luck fellow grower!

That 1 is sim to mine but mine is only 1200watts .... its easy to control .....without the heater my room will drop to 50f at night so I have it on a timer to come on after the lights go out and set to hold at 65f - 70f ......then shuts off when the lights come on then it warms up to about 82f
