Hello everyone. My friends call me Dave. First off just wanted to say what an outstanding job u all r doing in Maine. Way to go!! I currently live in AL very near the coast. Have been a cannabis user/ grower for bout 45 years now. Got away from it for about the last 15yrs but got back into it a year ago. Have a number of problems that I use cannabis for medicinally. My wife does not use and has never tried it but definitely has enough ailments to where it could really help her. She is afraid of losing her job and I realize there r ways to get around that but she don't work that way. Spent a lot of time when I was younger in York county. My uncle owned a cottage on Square Pond in Shapleigh. I am putting my home on the market soon and hopefully will b able to come to Maine to live and leave prohibition behind me. Just returned from Colorado a few days ago with a friend that's starting a cannabis based business out there. Once we got home I was so excited to have been in a state where u don't have to worry too much over using herb. I started thinkin bout Maine and all the good times good people and beautiful landscape and the fact it's a medical state. Once I read the laws and how reasonable they were compared to a lot of other states my wife and I r going to try to move to Me so that we can start growing our own and become self reliant. We really like the caregiver concept that's has been going on there. Just wanted to introduce myself and try and form some contact with folks. I don't work butwould b interested in talking bout possible part/full time employment as a care giver helper or .... Thanks to all who share on this board about ur experience with this wonderful medicine!!

I'm not certain about this, but I think hoss might be worried about competition, is all. You definitely broke no forum rules.

Maybe it means he would rather see someone who might have Alabama red state political values settle somewhere else?

Hey guys!! For what it's worth I was born in New England and believe there is still some of my relatives alive there - don't know 4 sure as never done real well with family - mostly Cause I DID grow up in the south. Not looking to cause anyone any worries. The way things been going 4 my wife and I chances r everything I shared in my first post probably won't happen anyway. Not looking 4 pity handouts or free ride but since 2009 our lives have not been quite what we thought and I guess when I found out about how well the people of Me have pulled together and formed what I believe to b a model to other states as it relates to cannabis I got pretty excited over possibilities that's all. Honestly just sharing our dream with u. All my grow experience was as an outdoor guerilla farmer in Florida in the early to mid eighties. I did have a full service landscape business for 10 yrs but do to declining health and other issues sold that about 5 years ago. Have never sewn a cannabis seed indoors and would have to believe the climate in Me means most cannabis grows r indoors. I hope this helps to c that I didn't come onto the forum to cause any problems with anyone and have a great deal of respect 4 the folks that r "living the deal". I'm only trying to play catch up and learn from people that I believe have a passion for helping others. Not looking to take anything away from anyone!! Thank u 4 the welcome and continued blessings to all!!

Prisons are fine, lots of relatives have lived there. Ten commandments in State House, not so much.

4 what's it's worth brother - just cause I live in the south speak with southern accent doesn't nessacarrily mean I go along with a lot of the southern way of doing things etc. kind of funny we having this conversation cause I have people tell me my whole life that I don't follow conventional flow. Not a lemming. Am very tolerant of most people - most lifestyles - beliefs etc. am comfortable around all ages. Would go to a Boston baseball game before a Bama football game. South has its good points - like anywhere. I guess it's bout experience etc. when I was out in Co last week had a dude in his twenties tell me I needed to get out and expierience the world. He felt like I live a sheltered existence. Probably true. Done a lot of things. Seen a lot of places but his comment still caused me to take note. I've stagnated for the last 6 years or so. My respect once again to the folks that have been working to produce quality medicine and all the work that goes into it. Been part of the medical machine this country wants u to believe is safe and effective. This last year has really opened my eyes that there is a legitimate medicine that helps me and I still live in a prohibition state. I don't have to continue down a path of side effects and insomnia that convential meds create. Just hoping to escape the prison I been livin in now that I know there is a real alternative. Hope this makes sense. Thx

Wife and i r wore out from the heat and southern mentality. Co was nice but the area that I would b in there receives 20 ft snow during winter. Plus I've spent no time in co other than few days. Spent great deal time in Me and New England and kinda feel comfortable with getting around. Plus I found I did not do well with altitude. The ranch in Co is 10k+. Really enjoyed my time up north other than catching hard time for being south. Lol. Thx
. Plus I believe the at

After thinkin a little more bout ur question A.K.A. I may not have a clue what I'm talkin bout cause I have not lived full time in either place but from what I've read and researched about a number of places that r 420 friendly it seems as though the state of Me is sincerely interested in what the people have to say and implementing laws etc so that u don't have to feel like an alien if u r a patient grower or whatever. I also feel here again based on what I've read that even the folks that r not involved want this to b successful for the overall health of the state both literally and financially. It seems as though tolerance and understanding r at the forefront of people's attitude. Perhaps I'm reading into things. Anyway just wanted to add this. Thx.

Florida will have legal med. in 5 days. Chronic pain not allowed tho. Pensacola is a nice place with a slightly diff. attitude than Bama.

U r right AKA. I live about 20 min from Pensacola and really like the coast from Panama City to the border. Very nice area. Grew up in st lucie county fl fort pierce area and also enjoyed that area when I was younger. Rat race now. Anyway like I was saying earlier the heat here is a killer. And it's not so much the heat as it is the humidity. It takes everything out of ya!! My wife moved hear from the Atlanta area 9 yrs ago and she has never cared for the heat the people and the area in general. It's kind of a unique place in that it's an agricultural history/ money that has created a viable tourist destination. We r commonly referred to as the "redneck riviera" lol. My main problem is chronic pain that I've been dealing with for most of life. So I don't c any help anytime soon in the Bible Belt ! We started talking bout moving couple years ago to a cooler more mountainous location and I even brought up my experiences in New England so it was something that was a possibility but now it almost feels like it's a definite direction. I'm not sure if this is making sense cause I feel like I'm leavin a lot out but I don't want to bore u with my story. Anyway I guess that's it 4 now.

I was wondering AKA do u live in Me?? Not sure if this is within the rules cause I realize there is a grow forum but do u have a grow?? Kinda thought from the name u do but don't want to assume anything. I appreciate u talkin w me even if u don't care to share much. I mean I do realize this is a Me forum and do not want to wear out my welcome.
