Help getting medical card

I would really like to get my medical card and have extensive history with diagnosis and prescriptions for insomnia and ADHD. Most places online charge hundreds for a doctors visit and I know there are easier ways now. I live an hour from Toronto, Ontario. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You need to see your family doc...if you don't have one or they won't recommend MJ, then you need to pay for a doctor to sign or buy in the black market. You can only LEGALLY access MJ through a licenced producer, but you still require a script from a doctor. If a licenced producer (LP) is still inaccessible, there is the grey market of compassion clubs, but again you need a doctors blessing.

Yes I'd like to find a doctor to sign since my family doc won't. Already asked and they said they didn't feel comfortable.

Welcome to the conversation....clp-56
finding a doctor can be tough but not impossible.
you can most likely pay to get an appointment....and since you only have the mmpr available they will
probably steer you in the way of a clinic that services that particular LP

you should get a letter of refusal from your family doctor...in case you choose to go it on your own....
You can use this refusal letter for your court case in the event you were to get caught growing...
no judge or court is likely to proceed against you if you show a medical need....and have approached a couple of doctors
in relation to this medical need....

the only way to become legal without paying for it is to have a compassionate doctor (your personal physian/family doctor). if you have to see a specialist they are most likely going to charge you for it, which is unfortunate as can be. the court case in february would be something very important for you to follow, it might not be worth the hassle of signing up for the program if things work out one way or the other. a letter stating your medical condition will get you into a compassion club and then the doctor doesn't have to worry about contacting health canada and being harrassed. you get better cannabis from them as well, as opposed to a licensed producer and the employees at a compassion club are accessible and knowledgeable...they aren't selling you stockholder hopes and dreams. just cannabis, oil and hash.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the average doctor probably won't give you a prescription with this diagnosis. They are focused on patients with long-term debilitating clinical illness or injuries and diagnoses that result in high levels of pain that are not well controlled by regular medications. For example - I was diagnosed 40 years ago and have taken high levels of opioids and barbiturates to control my symptoms for years. I spent one 3-year period on demerol. My cousin, who has MS, has been getting worse over the years and the disease leaves her in severe enough pain that her husband will sometimes have to bring her a joint to smoke before she can get out of bed and walk (with her cane) in the morning.

When I got my prescription I had to bring my entire file, which took up an entire box. The doctor who wrote my prescription wanted to see my Neurologist & specialist reports, MRIs, CATscans and blood work and checked for changes over the past ten years.

The medical associations are also cracking down on doctors. They don't want doctors prescribing it for every little symptom. They are mainly using it for pain, or for symptom relief in chemotherapy. If you can make the case that mmj will allow you to come off another more dangerous drug, you might get through, but it will be tough.
