HELP GROW ROOM POWER KEEPS GOING OFF

Since I am an electrician . . . Start here if you are mechanical inclined: So if I am hearing you correctly, you lost power to everything in a couple rooms that were connected to wall receptacles. When you checked the breakers, nothing was tripped. When you unplugged some of your connected load your power to your receptacles seemed to "turn back on". First thing I would do is identify the breaker that feeds those receptacles. I would then shut off the main breaker if your panel has one and replace that breaker (Less than $10). If you have main lug only panel, you will not be able to shut panel off. You can safely change out this breaker with a pair of leather gloves.

normal wiring includes two rooms into one circuit for power code requirement. So even tho you moved the dehui it was still plugged into the same circuit. You dehui draws high amperage. perhaps find a dehui that is not so heavy on power or use a long extension chord from another circuit to power your dehui, and watch for a hot extension chord. If it is hot get higher rated cable.

Oh, so you don't think his apartment is going to burn down??? Surprise there. I guess he should hold off on ripping out all of the apartment sheet rock to replace his crap wiring. LMAO. Glad a real electrician could give some real advice for a solution, rather than a rambling idiot.

He didnt say it wasnt a fire hazard...
And all i said is it COULD START A FIRE not that it will. Bro.. this isnt a joking matter. Fires do start like this ive seen it. My family is in insurance, and other side is in disaster repair. Ive seen this happen.
Go head tho, keep thinking you know every damn thing.

I also never said he needs to rip out the drywall. I said he needs to get a electrition in there to fix it, and if he keeps growing without adressing the issue, he needs to get a 220 box like a titan panel, and use the dryer plug. Ive offered solutions to keep him safe, you are just a fucking dumbass and its people like you that end up on the news and give growers a bad name because you dont care about the important details.

Hello, Iam in dire need of help. My grow room lost power all of a sudden during lights off, I checked my breaker box and it did not set off the breaker. However when I unplugged my dehumidifier, the power to the room turned back on. When I plugged it into a different outlet, the power stayed on. Whenever I plug it into the previous outlet, the power goes back off. The power then turned off 5 minutes later. Whenever I plug something in, to a different room, my grow room power goes off as well as that room. Both rooms are connected to one breaker. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you
Your pulling too many amps.

Safe rating say 15 amps is 80 pct. so 12 amps.
Really depends on load. Ballast etc.

Get licensed electrician and get another 2 circuits installed just for the grow. With mclite armoured cable.

You want to have safe grow. Essential u want good stuff UL or ETL listed products. You don't want to burn your house down. Which is possible.

And put smoke alarm down there.

I have me dehumidifier on when my light is turned off and vise versa. When I plug anything 3 prong into the adjacent room, the power goes off in both rooms yet the breaker does not pop off, but interesting that the closet light in my grow room does not go out when this happens though. I will definitely need to call an electrican. Only 2 weeks from harvest as well..
How do you get the power back on?

Get the fuck outta here.

I have a degree in electronics and when I hear power is going out but not tripping a breaker I immediately think "fire hazard".

Maybe it isn't a big deal but people die all the time from faulty wiring or electrical equipment.

So, no. Its not a dick move to tell someone to stop and think about what they are doing because it might lead to a fire.

A breaker that doesn't trip but is over loaded is a fire hazard.

I don't have a lot of experience in household electric. I worked triple phase stuff. If you screw up with that you are dead.

The wiring job is clearly fucked, i wouldnt trust it even with half of whatever is going on. Houses burn down all this time due to shitshow wiring, you have things like this going on i wouldnt look for a work around, id stop using those outlets all together. I know it sucks, but it could really be a matter of life or death in this case.
i agree, better safe than sorry. something is not correct with your wiring. regardless what it is, fire is always a possibility with electricity.

Uh, I never said don't do anything so read again with that fancy degree of yours, the only thing I ever provided was what was going on load wise when he plugged things in (which was kind of just repeating what he said as he didn't seem to understand). To assume the system is overloaded in the first place is making more assumptions (not necessarily wrong, but you provide it as truth), as is to assume his apartment is going to burn down and he needs to replace all of his wiring (as was provided by another rambling idiot). All of you idiots seem to be great at resolving electrical problems over the internet without pictures. How many times did I have to post/agree to get an electrician to look at it. That's why I never tried to give any solutions for what could be a hundred different things, only that his apartment isn't necessarily going to burn down or he needs to rip out wiring. Giving the wrong advice is much more dangerous than giving none, which is what I did other than an electrician. Such morons, having to point out useless degrees for what can be learned easily. Looking at some of your grows I am surprised you are even on here tbh. I am going to laugh when he comes back and says he didn't have to replace any wiring or knock out any sheetrock. I draw the line at being told to f off for no reason, keep it classy.

Sure. I don't doubt the wiring is ok. That doesn't mean that there isn't a fire hazard.

Its pretty simple. Power goes off and doesn't trip something is building heat. Plain and simple.

On the one hand you say you are surprised some people are here after seeing thier grow and at the same time call someone stupid for warning another that faulty wiring or breakers is a fire hazard.

Make up your mind.

Your the kind of guy that should just shut up and listen. To the OP. Some receptacles were made with "Stab Connectors," the wires jam into the back, no screws to hold them. Wiggling and unplugging can cause intermittent power. Check and see if they are this style. They are no longer a legal device in most states.

State license burner tech and fire suppression systems tech, I vote potential fire hazard, 100% agree needs electrician immediately to assess
-please be safe!

Your the kind of guy that just likes to talk. Glad you were able to decide that he has receptacle with stab connectors, good assumption from someone who isn't even an electrician.

Man, you really are stretching that degree of yours there with the philosophical thinking. I never called anyone stupid for "warning" that they might have a problem and should see an electrician to get it checked, you really have trouble reading (but thanks for making things up for your argument, again). I did respond to the original idiot who told him that his house was definitely going to burn down and he needed to rip out sheet rock, that was not helpful at all. Now idiots like you seem to be coming from everywhere. Again, all I said is don't make assumptions. You say if power goes off it must be building heat, but this is not true and if you really knew what you were talking about you would know this (it is possible, but not truth as you present it again). And then on top of that you somehow think knowing anything about electrical makes you a grower, these are growing forums and look at your posts. Ridiculous, I would be embarrased if I were here as long as you and had those grows. lmao. I really wish people would read rather than just being lazy. Since this thread started I have counted at least 6 different "suggestions" from you "electricians", from ripping out sheet rock to replacing $10 parts. Keep the great advice coming guys and don't confuse him or anything. Just keep giving him bad advice rather than just telling him to see an electrician. Again, never said nothing was wrong or don't check it, just don't listen to morons like you. You really are proving my point, so easy. I have to say it again because it is funny, look at your grows omg you should be embarrassed son.

If you're power is going off, but not tripping the breaker, and then coming back on minutes later, you DEFINITELY have a problem.

It could be a defective receptacle, a lose or bad connection in any receptacle or junction box on that circuit. With the age of the apartment, you can BANK of the fact you have a problem.

Get shit off that circuit immediately and notify your apartment complex of the issue so they can have it examined and fixed.

Frankly, I wouldn't spend one night in that place knowing that circuit is suspect.

Im happy more people who have basic understanding are posting.
Anyone with a basic grasp of reality knows this is a fire hazard... but theres always a few dumbasses out there. @twagner23 , im talking about you.
