HELP~~~~~~~heat problems

im starting growing in my attic. which is almost open to all the elements. (broken window. lets air in nothing else). its only about 3ft tall. and i am going to use a 400w half hps md. has exterm ventaltion. will this work in the space provided or not.

How about some more information about your grow...more size specs and stuff...people here are helpful but don't want to answer your questions with more questions...you know how lazy stoners are...

That may be a fortunate situation with the window, if you have the window bringing in fresh air and keeping the heat down along with external ventilation it may just work out. Id say just let the set up run for about a day or two before adding the plants just to see what the temp sits at, even if my space seems a little to hot I can usually get it within reason with some strategic positioning.

get a good fan. ventaliton is key for healthy plants!

u can try if u want but i think it will be a waist ov time with the height u have the object is to get the plant as big as possible and as much head as u can with the broken window dont u worry about people seeing the light and trust me they will once u have it going what about cops last time i checked it was against the law and most rooms u will need a aircon for the plants to grow good u need constent temp ov 28degres in room good luck.

better train them to be short...3 feet tall is how tall they will be at the end

Yea, that height seems pretty unmanageable.

If your containers are 12-18" tall, and your light is 9-12" plus ~18" of space to prevent burning the plants, that doesn't leave any room for the plants..

Even growing in small containers, and cooling the light to the point you can keep it say 9" off the plants give you about 12" of growing space at the MOST.

Not saying it's impossible,but I think you're going to have to get pretty clever with your set up, and do something pretty unconventional to make it work.

Maybe a vertical ScrOG opposite laterally moving light movers or something similar. But then you have an entirely different host of issues to play with...

vertical scrog would be intense--never heard of that. would u get a lattice or something?

And don't forget the stench control - with an open window and a skunk strain, your neighbors will know exactly what's going on. You'll need to get the window fixed, and come up with some way of filtering the air for the reek of weed.

wow only 3 foot tall? you might want to consider a differant light source or get an air cool tube
