How's that rotted stem going to hold up in the long run lol, no offense, I've done close to the same thing, except the main stem was cut about halfway through, took too long to recover and only made it about 2 feet tall, if you want to put in the time and effort then do so, I believe this was made for opinions to be shown

That algae on the soil is a dead giveaway its way overwatered, then the damage to the stem let rot set in. If it was me i'd try cutting just above the rotted part and dipping in rooting hormone and replanting in a small piece of rockwool or something you can control the moisture better with.

When compared to the overall grow this stage right here isn't much time at all, maybe a weeks worth, you might delay your overall grow a months worth if you start unhealthy. Better to just start with a nice healthy plant and cutting and repotting should do that, the way it is now youre always going to have that crappy rotted part right at soil level, although it would be interesting to see how the plant adapts to it.
