Help making glass vaporizer please...

Not strictly a glass question, but this is the best place I could find.
I do some silversmithing and I'm trying to make a silver/glass vaporizer. Initially im using a borosilicate test tube for a body (may well look to glass blowin when i get the rest of the design sorted). I'm not having any problems designing a flame heated one....but does anyone have any idea where i can buy a heating element so I can try and design an electronic one?
A friend has an old hair straightener that has a adjustable digital read out that goes up to 220 F (sweet!) which is fine to make one for myself, but I'd like to make these to sell....at some point...so the component part is what's needed, rather than buying stuff and breaking them open for the parts...
Thanks :bigjoint:

Moderator note: I changed the title of your thread from "help making vaporizer please..." to "help making glass vaporizer please..." just so folks understood why it was rightfully so in the glass section. :)

You can use one of those goofy electronic cigarette lighters for heating under the glass to get it hot inside, then suck it into another chamber once that is vapory, turn off the heater, and then enjoy the smoke! All you need to do is get it to 380-400(f) around the herb for it to vaporize. That's what my Volcano is set to.

If your up for it, I could make some goofy shapes and try some stuff out for you too. Might be fun.

Thanks for that, couldn't see where else to post my question.
I know the lighters you mean, I'll check them out.
As to the flame heated one I'm trying out now, just waiting on my bullion supplier for some tubing, and a couple of test tubes with side arms (that's a spare for when i brake one!;-)) for a bowl..take them and a bag of weed to my workbench etc etc etc.
Kind of a posh light bulb version really.
And couldn't really get any more unimaginative as far as the glassware is concerned, tbh I haven't checked any glass designs for flame vaporizers, so any ideas welcome....
This project's only 24hrs old, too much to think about :eyesmoke:, going to sign out and get it into my sketchbook before I start talking s$^t!!
I'll get back to this thread tomorrow.
Peace

If you arent too crazy, you could buy Borosilicate / Pyrex test tubes on eBay. I've seen them in various sizes around a dollar each! Or locally any scientific supply company will stock them.

Nice one! Borosilicate test tubes on their way.....Test run this idea; is there a better job?
