Help me set the timer please.

I have a digital timer and I want to set the timer for the pumps for an aeroponic system I am working on. I have been googling feeding schedules and I come up with tons of different answers. Some say on 5 min, off 5 min. Others say stay on 24/7 or hour on hour off.

My reservoir will be separate from the grow box, so the water should stay room temp. The room stays around 75 and the roots will have their own bucket that allows them to hang low. This feeding bucket drains back into the res then is sprayed back into the system.

What schedule do you guys use? Like most growers, I want to give them the most growth without having them drying out for too long and die.

Rule of thumb is 30 minutes on 3 hours off while the lights are on. Don't water when the lights are off because of sanitary issues. Message me if you have any other questions.

long pump on times will def heat things up.6
I'm currently building a low pressure aero table and will more than likely do 30 seconds on and a few minutes off.
Never really done a low pressure aero that drains back to a separate res so I imagine timings will change as I learn the system.
Some nft timers are set to 1 minute on 4 minutes off .

The roots won't dry out completely in the 12 hours the lights are off? I am not even sure how long roots can be dry I am used to DWC hydro.

The easiest is 1 min on 4 min off, those timers are cheaper and readily available. I found mine like 80 seconds on 5 min off but I like to screw around, I use 1 on and 4 off for veg and cloner.

Just like weed killer said above this runs 24/7 leaving your roots without moisture for 12 hours is crazy imho.
