I thought 3w LED's were supposed to be run closer to 700mA, and this says they run at 300mA, so like less than half power...sounds bogus to me.

I was in much the same predicament as you and I also started on eBay and Amazon. After staring at prices, wavelengths, and LED manufacturers, I can tell you one thing about purchasing LED: You get what you pay for. If I were you, I'd stick with a tried and true light- the Blackstar series (if you aren't willing to have something shipped from China). They are the most affordable LED without sacrificing quality (some would argue).

If anything, get in contact with one of the manufacturers and talk to them directly. In almost every case you can save a few dollars and maybe even tweak it to your liking. What I found most helpful in my search was this forum. Good luck!

most people will work with you if you call.. I know I called HTG and they knocked 50 bucks off my 135watt UFO... waited a week and called back and got 65 bucks off the 240 LED. It's all in your attitude and the person your talking to I suppose.

Lol. On a serious note I'm going to suggest a 240 blackstar flower model. They have awesome customer service and so far I'm satisfied. Check my current topic to check results and post a reply. Heh this is the 2nd post I've suggested my model. I want to compare results with people of the same model. :)

Blackstar is about as cheap as I'd go with LEDs, and they draw about 60% of what they advertise. If you don't plan on shelling out money for an LED, just stick with HPS because the cheap stuff won't do anything for you.

If you do have the money to spend, then by all means get a quality LED because you can still grow a pound from 350 watts and your bud will be of better quality.

LEDs are good if you are worried about burning your house down too...I had a support pole in my tent snap which could have caused big problems if I had been using HPS at the time!
