Help recovering OG Kush shriveling babies!!!!

What's up everyone -- just starting my first grow and I'm about 7 or 8 days into it from germination.. it's just too much fun caring for these guys! :)

I was hoping someone would have time to possibly help me diagnose what looks like some little seedling/sprout issues.

I have 5 plants going, one from a random bagseed and 4 OG Kush from a buddy of mine. The bagseed and two OG's are going pretty solid, looking good except for possibly too long of stems / reaching on the OG's....

400 watt mh light from htgsupply... about 80 degrees , sometimes fluctuates a little higher and sometimes gets to like 79... 3 fans so there's adequate air flow for sure...fox farms ocean forest soil....

been watering basically morning / night.... tried to make sure to water when the soil looked / felt pretty dry... can't see how overwatering could be it considering I thought I was watering them all the same amount and there's two doing just fine.

The two that are having problems have shriveled brownish yellow leaves and are so small still that it seems like something is going wrong.... but I can't really figure it out because I have been treating them all the same, they're all basically at the same point / under the same light..... so yeah....

I will put pics up in a few, I'm at work and will do it on my lunch break. Thanks in advance guys - I know the pics are mostly what you guys need.

Appreciate it!!!!

alright well i went home and they're in the dark cycle right now / the camera died, but i pulled the problematic one out and saw that its still small but has regained green color, so hopefully they will pull through. I'll post pictures later tonight possibly if anything is wrong, or if anyone just wants to see them ! thanks

Ok two things:

1. I think a few might be stretching/reaching for the light... the stems seem pretty long to me... so should I raise them up a little?

2. The two shriveled weird ones...what does the problem look to be? I think it's possible they were overwatered...I was watering morning and night for a day or two just because the light seemed to dry out the soil and they needed it...but maybe there was extra moisture down lower (even though I did feel with my finger a little).

Thanks guys, and I'm thinking about putting alum foil around the other 4 like the red cup one.

I attached pictures of the healthy looking ones too just for fun, one of which has the huge tall stem.

get that light right on top of them.....and watch how much you water them...with the light closer they wont stretch but the soil will dry quicker

How much further up should i put them... would 1 foot away be too close? I still don't know why two would be so much different than the other two when they were both treated the same and both had the same amount of light.. its weird!!

Thanks CALI man again, I appreciate it

alright well i went ahead and raised them up, now they're at 1 foot from the light. Hopefully it won't burn them... ? It's a little warm when i put my hand over them but not scorching or anything.

How does this look ?

hey roughnice

are u ph'ing ur water? adding any nutes?

the light might be a lil warm for em that close. do u have a thermometer and hygrometer?

u need an oscillating fan to move air over the seedlings.

get rid of the foil...its co0oking them...the light looks about right for now...when they get older and stronger you can lower the light even more...but never use foil..is reflects heat not light..flat white paint or mylar is good..

hey guys, just let the soil dry out completely and now it's started today's light cycle, and i watered them now because they definitely were out of water.

Hopefully the light won't burn them, they seem ok right now we have 3 fans going in there moving air everywhere.

spittn yes we ph'ed the water to about 6.0 just now , and have not been adding nutes because we figured the soil is still rich with them. It's only about one week since I planted them in the soil. We also have an atomic clock in there that has a thermometer built in, the temp is usually between 73 and 84 I'd say. Usually around 79 though average.

CALI we took the foil off right away and we're keeping the light there for now just like you said.

Thanks and any other input is appreciated.

its a slow process that cant be rushed, the worse thing to do is over watering in the early stages. Watch em close and all should be good, are babies are around the same age if you want to check em out. GL with your grow

Geez, they don't even have true leaves yet. I wouldn't worry about them stretching. Plants will be plants.

hey dude i have 12 og plants going in the 3rd week of flowering, The best way to start small plants if you plan on putting them under a mh is getting them used to the light intensity, I had mine under fluorescents for a week than they got a little stronger and I threw them under a 800 w mh Just make sure you water when necessary, not morning and night, try to keep it patterned. Just remember to keep that light close to them, put your hand right above your plants and make sure your hand doesnt burn that means your plants will be fine. :) good luck

Hello everyone!!!

I'm at day 17 since planting the seeds in the soil, and have had crazy differences in my plants and their progress.

I went with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil, ph'ed water each time to about 6-6.5...been watering about twice a day , whenever the 400 w mh light dries out the soil.

I just put in some fox farms big bloom a few waterings back, then after that was gone i just now have mixed some big bloom and grow big together with correctly ph'ed water to about 6.0.

Here's some pictures to show growth, and also to show some problems I seem to be having with two of the plants...

The biggest darker one is a bagseed that was germinated a little bit earlier, and the others are all og kush.

First 4 Pics: OG Kush , 5th : bagseed growing like crazy!!

Pics 6, 7, and 8 are up close of the two problem / stunted plants...

Pic 9 and 10 are the healthy ones of the OG but have some yellow lower leaves and seem to be reaching up / folding upwards (opposite of drooping)

Pic 11 is of the big bagseed.

Thanks, hopefully some people can help me out with the problems and give some suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.
