inline fan are fairly noisy for an appartment, and probably for your wife. 90W wont yield much, you will have a 125W fan running for a 90W light? Scrog is probably your best bet for yield, especially with LEDs. Soil is more forgiving, slower growth but if done right better taste(so I hear) good luck

EDIT: maybe you werent planning on having the fan running all the time but I think you will find that you have to run it fairly often to keep cooler temps and the relative humidity down. That 90 W is not hot to the touch but in a tiny space it will bring the temps up! when I was running the 90W ufo on its own in my dresser I still had to have the fan going because the temps would be above 30celcius, its a small dresser but your tent is not much bigger!

I have completed several grows using a UFO 90. First it does not cover more than ~ 2 X 2, also needs to be kept ~ 12" above, or you won't get much penetration. whether you go hydro or soil get a mortar mixing tub from H/L depot to catch any spillage accidents- trust me on this.

Hang the light in the corner of a closet from the metal fixture and get a windshield reflector to wrap the two open sides.

By far te simplest method would be to use ~ 2 G Air Pots and a soilless mix. For nutes something like Dyna Grow, and don't over fert. I have a nute in mind will follow up with link

Hydro requires an RO, as it needs quite a bit of water on an ongoing basis. If you did that you would need a TDS meter (ppms) and a pH meter.

In would start roughly 6 seeds to make sure your get 2 females (fem seeds is no guarantee!)

Thank you for the reply, ok can I get a slip cover for the fan? My wife smokes ,but she's not to fond of me trying to do my own stuff. IDK why cause when I take the risk of driving to meet somebody to cap and thank god made it safely she smokes that stuff as much as I do but I can't keep dishing $ 220 for .5 or $120 for a 8 of that good clean buds, it just not consistant product they offer me ,plus the risk of possession charger n finds plus my jobs is always on the look out from the arrest records online. So a 90 watt LED wont yield or produces quality buds? This sucks cause I was hoping this would work, soil takes how long to grown a healthy plant or two at same time?
So my final offer to the wife is if you want to smoke the good stuff let me be and dont talk about it with anybody. So I think she will bend a little plus it saves money within the household, What else can I do to find a solution to my problem... Growing in a apt bldg 7th floor facing a main av in the city overlooking the river...HPS are to hot plus my FPL bill will show the increase on power.
Still I am not going to give up , Florida laws are all Fug up...they treat you like a killer if you so do speak about pot... And all am trying to do is just smoke my pot in peace and not get rip off by middle man and get the low level buds for my hard ear $.
My other solution is to move from this fug up state , and go where the plant that I must love is legal...but that's not looking good for another two or three years...school, work, fam, reasons. Plus my company is forcing 80 hr unpaid time off since the economy within the city is on the red. So I had to stop smoking due to all this issues, which am not the same guy without THC in my system. I see some grow boxs even those things are like 3500 a pop , and I don't have that kind mula to buy those advance systems, i can't fugging wait till they make thing legal it's a plant for god sake... I can see if your running a poppy seed plan op and sending your cash to them terrorist but C'mon someone that paids taxes, working , never asked for gov help, pay my own health insurance, no criminal records is just trying to grow his own stash of wonderful herb in the pravicy of his own place to enjoy not to profit from it and now they passed a law that if you get caught with 25 or more it's a felony with 15 years...WTF are you kidding me 15 years max!!! Yet I know a few child abusers who get probation something is wrong in this country legal system , yet somebody who follows the law to a certain extent can't grow and smoke weed in peace due to all the laws and wanna be narcs whom snitch... Boi I need a blunt after all this too bad is gonna have to wait till I figure this all out, there's gotta to be a better way....

So the site states 100% female seeds from holland 5 is about 42.95 in USD plus the stealth shipping is about 28 bucks I really am hoping their females ... If I would know this prior I would just order the 10 regular seeds... Lol still no biggie it's a learning experience ... Now I know for the next time.... So I got the Jorge Cevantes Ebook on how to start this process , book is excellent tells you allot about the plants , made me fall in love with the science behind all of this and the care you put in is what I like about growing your own. Now how would I set up a schedule to clone n keep my supply stock coming using a small garden? I read on the book on how to get the seed germinated start of life so to speak of the future plant... Same tip start with half the seeds to make sure their females within the flowering stage , now after I find out the sex take care of it if is female then get rid of the males and then clone the plant at what point is what I don't understand... The clone thing also requires a humidifier and heat mat? Or can I grow the clones using the UFO light also? Some where on the book it says to use a 40 watt cfl to root the seeds and have it in a coco fiber pot for easy transfer to the main tub.
The super closet 2.0 is awesome it's very compact file cabinet looking thing but is in the 1000 range plus shipping to FlO is about 300 additional .... I need to either get real creative on how to procee with this kind of stuff or save thousands of dollars and get a fully automated system ... Ahh the stress of dealing with life and no THC sux...I do believe at the end of the day it's all going to pay off for me...just need a little of guidance from ya...tx

Finally found your thread again. The product is Rocket Fuel. From what I know about nutes, it should be awesome for soil/soiless growers

http://www.organic-gardening-shop.com/Agorganics/Product_Details.aspx?ProductID=582&ProductName=Garden-Ville%20Rocket%20Fuel

Couple other notes:

UFO 90s do not get hot, so venting is not a big deal but a small circ fan over the plants is a vg idea.

Speed of grow has to do with amount of PAR lumens per cubic ft. Also watering: too often, or not often enough, slows growth in soil. Air Pots are more forgiving of over watering, plus you can grow a bigger plant in a 1.5g AP than a 3g pot

One UFO will not throw wide enough light for 2 main plants, let alone clones.

And FYI, make sure you get small strains, I suggest AutoFlowers. They grow short and fast.

In S FL you should not need humidifier or heating pad. Start clones in ~8 oz plastic cups cover with larger clear plastic cups ( cut spout off liter plastic bottles and cover to create a humid environment. Remove once you have 2nd leaf set.

Clone Light: You can get a 3-4 bulb vanity fixture at L/H depot for < $20 and a hand full of 23 watt warm white CFLs

Petflora is right autoflowers and leds are perfect for small home hobby growers. Also you'll want more lighting than just a 90w. I'd suggest getting something in the 180w or greater range with at least 7 bands if you want to set it up proper. I owned a 90w quad band 2w per diode ufo once upon a time and can tell you it is not enough to grow 3 plants effectively. More like one solid plant.

I see , So a 180 watt LED for atlease two plants, auto flowing seeds got it, Hmm I was told to buy a LED Procyon system but that's 699 for a very special light... I guess I have to invest heavy on the light.... To produce that kind of quality bud I am looking for...

I don't know first hand about the Procyon lights but from their website those sound incredibly expensive for a 100w light that is a dual spectrum. The Cree diodes they're using are top of the line but it's been widely proven lamps with a mixture of high kelvin diodes, UV, IR, and different shades of red and blue will give you better results.

GLH, Stealth, Blackstar, Hydroponics Hut, Advanced - those are all lights that have been well reviewed on this board. I'd start looking here given the amount of grow journals using them with success. I've owned GLH, Hydro Hut, and Blackstar leds I can tell you first hand any of those will work, just know that blackstar is a company that adverts chipset capacity on their lights instead of total power consumption.

To elaborate the 100w ufo I had from GLH when plugged into a wattage meter read 104w, the hydro hut 180 pulls 155w, the 50w blackstar 34w. Knowing the actual power intake and output of the lamps you're shopping is really important.

Brain Fart: L/H. has a wide variety of CFLs. You can buy 300 watt equivalent CFLs (2700K- flowering) for < $15. Using the 3-4 bulb vanity fixture, you can get 2 large-ish cool whites for grow. Just make sure they fit (a 4 bulb fixture is better for this.) Add a couple of small cool whites during flower too. In the mean time start reading up on HO T5s using aquarium bulbs. I just started a journal and Pr0fesseurs LED Without LEDS My First T 5 Grow is a must read. LEDS ain't all that!

An 8 bulb Quantum Bad Boy HO T 5 (2 X 4) can be used either horizontally or vertically. Price is ~ $250 + bulbs

In my opinion, a 440 cfm fan is going to be too loud and move too much air for your space. I have a 4x2x5 tent w/a 200 cfm fan and carbron filter, and for lighting I have the 2012 240 watt Blackstar LED and I am buying a speed controller to turn my fan down b/c I no longer have any heat issues. One way the wifey will go along with you growing is to make it unobtrusive for her.(out of sight, out of mind) The inline fans are loud so that is why I would get either a fan speed controller or a smaller cfm fan(if you are planning on going w/hps lighting in the future then get the big fan) Now, when I was running 400+ actual cfl watts, it was hard to keep temps low since the cfls go so close to plants. imo, cfl is good for vegging but I flowered my 1st 2 grows w/cfl's and I believe my Blackstar will kill the cfl's and it makes it easier not having to constantly adjust cfl's to the plant. I will say this, I've had the Blackstar for 10 days, and I'm not starting flowering until probably Friday so I'm no expert. I got the Blackstar for $270 and my plants love it. Even the 240 will only cover 2-3 plants but you could put 2 and clones and I believe the clones would get enough light.
Also, with autoflowers go very easy on the nutes. I've grown 2 different strains of autoflower's and they don't like full nute feedings. Auto's are the easiest plants I have grown, if you are growing in soil that has nutes already, you won't even need veg nutes. Most soil has enough food for 3-4 weeks and an auto only takes 8-10 weeks. (The first 2 weeks are considered veg period, then it starts flowering) Are you going to keep a journal once you get it all setup?

caesar is correct autos don't like the nutes as much as photos. Well some do but they are few and far between. I've found a good rule of thumb with autos is to start out with 1/2 the normal dose of flower nutes (don't bother with veg nutes beyond microbacteria which should be used all the way through) and judge its performance from there. Especially the sativa dominant autos I've grown really haven't responded well to more than 1/2 the rec dosage.

i was looking into buying a new 90w led also i have `130w of cfls right now and it raises my box temp from normaly 72 lights off to 82 with lights on but i also have a heat shield(glass sheet) and if that isnt in there the temps are up to 86 so it helps alot. i found a 90w led for 145 and others had it around 180 but i dont know how much heat leds give out and that is kinda alot for me to spend. i also live in an apt. i only have one plant growing right now an auto but i planted a seed today and plan on scrogging it while the auto is done flowering

If you're only working with one autoflower plant check out the Pro-Grow 90 from Hydroponics Hut or the Blackstar 135w ufo. That's really all you'll need for one plant. You won't even need the cfl sides. As far as the heat is concerned - way less heat than a cfl.

For sure way less heat than cfl's. I'm about to put a small heater in the closet my tent is in to attempt to raise the temps. I run constantly at 70-72.

I find that the inline fan is just as noisy with the speed controller... when I turn mine too low it's actually louder...

That is not what I want to hear. Speed controllers(just like everything else in growing) is something you get alot of different opinions. Some say they work great and some say they make it louder. I'm going to order one from HTG in a month or so just to see.

You've got a point there out of sight out of mind...now the clincher is I sold her a pipedream...lmfao well I told her we need to start to grow our on tomatoes and herbs and my plants , she reply right I'll just pull the weed out.. I was like wtf are you talking about I don't do that stuff..lol but she's kinda got the picture... And yes that fan is going to be to loud...funny there was a blog on here I'll post link later ,but the guy was right just ask , and you shal receive... Well I saw one of my coworkers with this little desk fan make Lakewood she got it at Walgreens ,but is a discontinued product..so I said to her man my garden plants sure can use something like this ..so boom she was like take it...I was like one less thing I have to worry about... It's like real silent desktop fan about 3" wide... Strong air flow and very silent... I can not say thank you enough for the input ,it's helping me choose wisely and not make unnecessary purchases ... Also yes I will have a log once it's all set up... One more thing omg guys FPL cut my power for 65 dollars...guess I will be switching to Autopay and have a piggy bank $ for fund the op....but it was a mayor lesson if I had the plants already n no power I would have lost it...lol plus I haven't smoked....and my local dealer has some tree that look like they just left the growing soil ...lol no lie maybe the grow op was too heated and they had a sale...but still no HQ bud has come my way since the old man pasted away..man that oldman had the good stuff in S FL but it went downhill once he died in October ,2011. Tomorow I will begin to get the ball rolling as I took care of FPL n set up Autopay so they don't even gotta hear me or see me...lol now my apt bldg is full of HPS in the basement n all over the parking area.. Plus I was out side walking on the side walk making sure no wondering eyes can just look up and see what I am building... FYI mite move it to the balcony she doesn't mind it there... Boi am hoping this works..after I saw some YouTube vid with some white ticks looking things on the plants freakit me out.... So one of my new concerns with bugs outside..but I am right in the middle of the city...very ventilated area but I have to account is not summer time yet , so I am not sure if am real happy with the balcony idea..I was just thinking of kicking all her stuff out the closet and setting it their...lol I dout she goes along with it...
