help setting up a water chiller

hey guys i just recv'd my aqua chiller 1/10hp. Anyone have any good setups, I only need it to chill 18 gallons right now and will be expanding in about a year. My question is that with such a small system i don't want to have both the feeding pump + the 250g pump for the chiller in the res. Think i can set it up so the return from the chiller feeds the drip lines?
I have a home built bubbleponics system in a 25 gallon tote. let me know if you need to know more. thanks

Don't think you really need the feeder pump. (Maybe I'm wronge on this) But I'm pretty sure that the feeder pump is not neccasary for growing, just keep the water level around 1" Above the net pots untill roots start to grow out of the pots then lower the water level to 1" bellow the net pots.

Good luck with it.

I though about that route but i like to start my seeds in rockwool right in the system. I need feeding lines to get that going.

You can still do it without the feeding lines.

if you want to use them Maybe take the pump out in a couple of weeks when the plants are established?

water the plants buy hand for a week and the roots will be in the buckets after a week, once it touches the nutrient any way you dont use the air pump.mine just sits in corner and never runs. hope I helped PH2

Stop using rockwool
and use coco coir.

Coco holds enough moisture
to germinate seed
without any watering
or feeder tubes.

I have a 1/4 hp chiller
and it could barely keep
my 20gls at 68º
until I super insulated my rez.

Mount the pump for the chiller
on the outside of the rez
and use bulkhead fittings and unions
to hook it up.

This will keep the chiller pump
from adding heat to the rez.

good luck.

thanks for the input, i think im gonna go with the hand watering till the roots hit the water. that seems to be the easiest way to get this thing going. EARL did you use filtration system with the chiller or just the filter thats in the pump?
