I wanna put a ball valve or fitting for a hose on 5gal buckets that are all gonna connect to one hose, any idea what parts i need to get the fitting on the bucket without water coming out.

I goto my local plumbing store and buy 1/2" bulkhead fitting and connect a barb fitting to it for my hose.
The bulk head attaches by drilling a hole in the bucket and it has gaskets that seal it.
I can post pics if you need

yeah, the HD around me doesn't carry them, they told me for liablility reasons? I told them I was trying to make a rain barrel to catch water run-off, they didn't have a clue. Your local plumbing supply store will have them, the one that all the real plumbers go to. If not, just google it, you'll get a whole bunch of hits. My suggestion would be to get a bunch of them. I put them on the bottom of both reservoirs, and the tank for my RO water. I would suggest a fill valve that is adaptable to 1/4 tubing that way you always have fresh water on reserve.

Are thinking of a group of buckets all hooked up to one res ? If so look on the Stealth Hydro website for there bucketeer setup it would be easy to copy ...

you can get a General Hydroponc Water Farm replacement kit for $15+tax. Comes with tube, dripper, air-line hose, "grommet", 1/4 elbow and tubing.

use the grommet and elbow then find a extra long piece of 1/4 tubing for your "hose".
