Help with my lighting questions /issues and my grow room

Hello! First grow here ! I have a 6.5x6.5x 7 room trying to grow ten plants ! I've been using 3 400w apollo Mh lights spread evenly in my room . And 400 w hps for flowing . I got ok veg growth but the more I read the more I realized maybe it wasn't the greatest as some people can get up to 3 inches on a good day of growth and i got nothing like that . When i flowered I got loose airy buds and not even close to .5g per w. Overall big waste of time and money . I had tempsture problems, bugs even with intake and outtake fans and multiple fans just circulating air because it was so hot upwards to 90 degrees sometimes . So i got rid of it all and decided to try LED out . I got 3 800 w king led double chipped , and wondering should this provide better lighting for my next grow or if lighting was even a problem from the start ? for ten plants in the same room ? I know my heat problem will be gone at least but the actual power w is 180 w being used , so does that mean I just got 3 lights that are basically as powerful as one 400 Mh?

Sounds like you have multiple problems to solve... most could have been avoided had you done the asking/reading first, then the growing... coulda saved some money...

Room that size 2 400w MH's should be perfectly fine for veg, I don't doubt the temps went insane....

This hydro or soil? Either way the roots are cooking in that ambient temp, but if its hydro, gonna be talking major root rot issues...

Bugs.... more detail, we talking spider mites? Thrips? Gnats?

Where is the room venting in/out at? Screened/netted/filtered?

Are you going for 10 plants for the yield amount? Running HPS in flower, with 2 400w, you will get more from 6 plants than w/ 3 lights and 10 plants... Sounds crazy, but the heat stress, and the crowding will give you small amounts of shit bud...

You tried to cram too much into too small a space, and its just not having it...

If you sealed that room up good, pumped its CO2 to 1500-3000ppm, and ran chilled hydro.... sure, fucking rain forest growth... but you are looking for a 5yr dialed in grow output from a first attempt....

As someone who has grown for a long time.... having anything smoke-able from your first grow is a win.... most have to wait til # 2 or 3 to make it all the way thru when they just dive in....

Solve your heat issue first. (LEDs are much cooler, but check to see what the ambient temps actually are, cuz the electronics that power the LEDs put off a shit ton of heat)

Once heats solved using whichever light method you decide to go with, find the source of the bugs. Until you eliminate the source, there is no sense in A) killing the ones in the room, or B) growing anything. Find the source, eliminate the source, and then SANITIZE the room. Hold nothing back, go fucking hardcore, depending on grow room setup, fog it, spray it, wipe it, bleach it, every nook and cranny, leave no where for eggs to hide, or bugs to nest.

[Ask in the LED section about the quality of your light, I dont do/know shit on LED, but from what I have gathered, its either pay a stupidly high price tag, build your own, or end up with shitty grow lights.... maybe yours is a good one /shrug]

I had thrips and gnats, but have that problem under control now after getting the proper bug Killer , and cleaned/ spray bombed the growroom
Before putting the plants back in . The plants still have the affected leafs on them , but all new growth seems good and healthy I'll upload pictures . After switching to the leds the tempature has been sitting at 75 during lights on and about 65 lights off . This is being done in soil , I actually just had to throw a whole batch of seedlings out before they had gotton bad root rot , one big reason I switched over to these leds . So will my 3 800w be good for the room or does it go off actual power consumption ? Which is 180x3 which would only be good for a 3x3 room ? And

With LED, I think the answer is 'neither'

Its the driver, the LED itself, and who knows what else... ask in the LED subforum about your specific model, I am sure someone can tell you where it ranks. I am not skilled or knowledgeable in LED, im an HPS+DWC guy

The LED's you using are some of the most inefficient on the market. Try using some real LED's (COB's or Quantim Boards) or switch to HPS. Blurple lights do not grow good bud. You can veg under them at best but don't expect any more than that

It's too bad that you didn't find rollitup sooner. It sounds like you're adequately financed but under-educated. This is a good place to pick up the education. There are always successful growers on here willing to help. The lights you had were fine for both veg and flower. Getting the heat down may have been as simple as moving the power supplies out of the grow room if they were integrated. Or venting the heat out of the tent if they were ducted hoods. There are lots of ways to keep the heat down, or to use it to your advantage. But now you have crap blurple LEDs that can't even compare to the MH/HPS you already had. The LED forum is your best bet at pulling together decent lighting. Start a thread over there and describe your grow space and needs and we'll all do our best to steer you in the right direction.
