you'll still get some stretch with the MH, just not as much as with the HPS, part of its the light, part of its the plants natural reaction to a 12/12 environment

i'd run a combo of MH and HPS for the best results if possible.
like roger said above, i think the stretch is mainly due to 12/12. when the lights go off, they are programmed to stretch for their last known light source.

Thanks for your replies guys I have done one week of MH and now switched to HPS but I am worried that my plants are stretching the internode space is really big I think but I may just be over thinking it I have added some pics let me know if you think it's normal or they stretching to much and I'm going to end up with just little dinky buds or will this still turn into nice big colas

Stretching is normal when flipped. If you haven't grow those pheno's before let them ride it out and then you'll understand what's required to keep them happy and productive.
I'm not really a big fan of trimming fan leaves off but i have the same sort of setup as you and I just went hard on the trimming and lollipoping a week ago and they love it , from now on I just tuck the leaves for more bud sites. But looking good man. I did a full grow with mh and found more terps and odor with same strain i use . More green towards the end , now I run both mh and hps , 2x 600w and my buds are bigger , branches are stronger , just working on a extra extraction for both as it bloody hot in there on a warm day. Looks like you mite need a bigger tent lol

Yes I'm not a great fan of trimming fan leaves but I have lollipop all of the plants about two weeks ago and they do love it I switched to HPS after one week into flower I do wish I stayed on the metal halide to try and reduce the stretch as I got a hell of a lot well over double the size when the lights were switched now and yes I do believe I need a bigger tent you want to see them now it is absolutely packed

Yes I have a read through but still unsure how to cure it as my ph has always been spot on at 5.8 to 6.0 so is my nutrients that's the problem I am feeding them all bloom nutrients so they should be getting enough potassium what do uoubthinkni can do ?????
