i am currently growing bc sweet tooth under 12 42w cfl's. out of the ten seeds i received 2 were hermies,5 were males and the 3 i am left with show decent growth... they have been flowering for 3 1/2 wks. and the spaces between the nodes are still bare!!! how long does it take for that space to fill in? is the miracle grow soil too rich? i have taken cuttings from the remaining 3 and those are showing quick root development so i know they are strong healthy plants. i mean does this strain not yield that much or what??.. i water them with a dilute superthrive and 6.8 ph water. they stand about 2 1/2 ft tall with minimal side branching and a dark green purple tint to the leaves. i will try to post some pics soon, but could someone please give advice??!!! this is my first time growing anything and i just want to make sure i am going to get the best product.

Dark purple tint sounds like phosphorus deficiency, time to get some bloom food in there if you aren't already. Stop using the superthrive -- at least until you're sure your plants are reacting well to it, but I'd drop it altogether.

Also, remember that start of 12/12 is not the start of flowering. So if it took 1 week to show pistils, then you're really only 2 1/2 weeks into flowering. Either way, you've got a ways to go so be patient. Sounds like you've got plenty of light, so make sure you keep them within a couple inches of the plants and make sure you've got a fan to keep it cool so you don't burn nothin.

what type aof bloom feed do you recommend? and can i use it with the miracle grow soil? will it overload my girls with too much nutrients?

I can recommend Tiger Bloom by FoxFarm only because that's what I use. It is a *mostly* organic fert. 2tsp per gallon of water every other feeding.

You should start with half strength and see how your plants react to it. Nutrient burn will be browning on the tips of the leaves. If you burn the plant with half strength, then your MG soil may be to blame.

To be honest, I'd be surprised if there was any food left in the soil after all this time.

Yeah id agree with wbd. To play it safe, id give the soil a good flushing, and use a reasonable strength 2 or 3 part nut. system and eventually adding a bloom supplement

okay, i transplanted the girls to 5 gallon containers cause they were in 1 gl. containers before... when i transplanted i could see all the roots coming through the drain holes and wrapped around the perlite i had in the bottom. so that could have been my prob as well.. i added more soil obviously so we'll see. if i don't see any results i'll use that bloom feed as well. still working on the pics i can't find my usb cable. thanks alot... one love.
