Hey Guys and Girls,
I am looking to move back to Colorado in 3 to 4 years. When i used to live in Denver i was just a kid. I miss the rockies, real seasons and TREES. I currently live in Texas. Am i just moving because of the Med laws no but it is a factor. I am currently reasearching Northern Az too. I have over 10yrs experience in wharehouses, and buying/planning. Basicly I am a materials guy by trade. not what i wanted just something i am good at. Oh I also do wood working as a hobbie, building furniture and refinishing. I currently have a shop i built and am looking to get this turned in to a part time income as well. I am not looking to live in the City. I cant stand crowds. I like my privacy. I currently live on one acre. Out in the middle of the boonies as my friends like to tell me. I currently travel over an hour to get to work one way. Dont like it but what you going to do if you like the country. I also ride motorcycles, hunt, fish, hike just basicly anything outdoors. Yeah I love to garden indoors and out.....not all is Pot.LOL I guess what i would like help with is decent places to live. I am not rich or close to it. You know just safe decent area to live out side the City in rural areas. PLus I was told that Co has state income tax? SO how does this effect your cost of living? Texas doesnt have state income taxes. PLus if i wanted to get into growing for the Disp, what does it take to get involeved in that? I have been growing for over a year now for myself and family members only. All my friends tell me i "get" the best stuff. LOL Dont get me wrong i dont think i am any thing special. Just looking to see how things work. Would that be good for a part time income? I currently get 0 dollars as I dont sell to anyone. I am looking for advise on the questions above and many others. I have to wait till my son grads highschool. So i have time to research. I dont expect to get hand fed all the info i need. Maybe point me in the right direction to find my own info links that sort of thing. Yes I have heard of google, but if you can narrow the search for me that would be great. Thanks for any and all help. I really do appriate it.

Not sure what you are asking here, yes we have income taxes, no we do not know how that affects the cost of living vs texas because we live in colorado. Don't plan to make much, in fact as a caregiver (limited to 5 patients with 6 plants, no more than 3 flowering each) you are not allowed to make a profit. No you can not sell to dispensaries, ONLY your 5 patients. Good Luck!

Ok thanks for responding. I am fine with not making money off pot. Heck i make none now. So no big Deal. I am looking for info about the state, good places to live, what is the job situation like up there that sort of thing. So what percent is the state income tax? Thats why i gave some background info in my post. I am almost 38 now and havent live in CO in about 28 years. I know i am moving out of Texas just not sure where to yet. It is not that Texas is bad, just time to move on back to the mountains. Or at least to where i wont be considered a "crimminal". Time for a change. Does this make sense?

for places it works like this, closer you get to the mountains more it cost, further you get from the city fewer job opportunities
I used to live up north 15 miles east of Brighton, drove 33 miles one way to work, but cost of living was way cheaper and had a view of the mountains from my window :)
the state income tax is not a biggy, I normally get a refund
as for working in a dispensery you just need to pass a background check,,,,no felonies allowed (kinda like buying a gun)

Thanks Riddleme for responding. I understand the distance thing. I do that now or did before i was laid off. I drove 36 miles one way. Can you recommend any cool small towns for me to look into? I live in a pretty cool small town now. I have lived here over 10 years. What i mean it is quiet, cops are not a hassle unless you are. A town a used to live in, Round Rock, the cops sucked! It was over crowed that sort of thing. I have heard Colorado Springs was cool but what out for some of the surrounding areas. I sure denver has it slums, bad areas. What is the average cost of living?
