Turned it up to 200w today.
Will wait till the shortest clone is 6", then flip. Just want to establish roots right now. First little mini sog so I'm really looking forward to this especially with these panels.View attachment 3874243View attachment 3874245View attachment 3874246
Sweet setup. So what is the deal because I am looking to replace a 1000 watt HPS. I was thinking a 4 board QB would do it.. The draw would be closer to 550 watts? Or do I need 6 QB boards?

Do you crank them down to 200 watts for veg?

4 QB and 2 HLG-240H-C1050/2100 will do the trick. 6 QB on 2 HLG-240H-C2100 would give you more light and a better spread. I like the 6 board option myself but if you are budget conscious then 4 will do the trick.

Girls are looking good under the Quantums! Just debating whether to flip tomorrow or monday. The shortest clone is about 5", but the tallest is almost 7.
I don't want to wait too long but I need them to have some long sexy legs so I can get to the girls in the back when I'm watering once they start bulking up.

Still figuring out how I want to lollipop them. I want all single colas but don't want yield to suffer too much either.
If any of you sog guys have any tips I'm all ears.

Found this little guy crawling around and almost vacuumed him up, but spared his life as he may be a benefit to my garden. Hope he's one of the good guys. Found his bigger brother in my mother tent just now as well and also let him live.

robin, I thought I was beginning to understand these drivers. I thought "HLG-320" meant 320 watts was max output. But you're saying 390 watts at the wall. The driver's not consuming 60W, is it?

Also, how exactly is this one wired? It's always helpful to give the specifics when describing a working combination.
For anyone curious about the ACTUAL output of a meanwell driver before you buy one.

Go here: http://www.meanwell.com/product/led/LED.html

And at the top of the driver page you select, there will be a spot at the top next to the open "specs" tab that says "report", go there.

Go down to Current Adj Range and the column furthest right will give you the actual tested current range.

For instance the HLG-320H-C-2800 will output a range of (1.1093A~3.1381A) this is for an input voltage of 115v and using max voltage rating for the driver (114v dc out).

So at 114v and 3.138a it will output ~358w, not the ~320w listed on the specs page.

This is the setup I'm going to run, except will use the new Slate2 heatsinks in a 4x4 tent.. This should be a killer grow!

@NapalmD Tent looking bright and those 10 plants look great. Thanks for helping us with a journal. Should be awesome :weed:

Sharing some details. Feel free to discuss any DIY related questions in DIY thread https://www.rollitup.org/t/diy-with-quantum-boards.927159/
HLG-320H-C2800A Driver with 4x boards on 4x slate 1 heatsink.
1216 pcs total Samsung 561C S5 LED's
Max power around 390 watts at wall.
This lamp can provide enough light for 4x4. Will be dimmed for this 2x2.5 and @NapalmD may consider using these lamps in a 3x3 next time

how much head room do you have? i overvegged my sog because of my build hiccups. nothing worse than frying plants because you over vegged. looks like you have plenty of lateral space but i wouldnt let them go too long especially if they are new genetics youve never run and dont know the stretch etc.

here is what i would consider the ultimate SOG setup from shortstackz over on icmag. its a way old thread but the pics on the first post are self explanatory and awesome. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=237137

They responded well to their feeding earlier. They should be praying when I wake up. I'm just gonna flip to 12/12 tomorrow. I know what this strain will do. I'll just keep the lights on them and clean up to my taste.

At this wattage they should hit everything I want them to. I kept this cut so I can get her dialed in. Have four new Headbanger moms I'll be hunting through soon too.
It's gonna be a funkorama up in here!

Subbed. Looking good.
Hard to tell, is there optics being used?
So who's selling these? Northern & Johnson? They work together? Is Horticultural Lighting group Johnson?
Help me understand. They seemed to be working on it together but am wondering the outcome. They both sell them but Northern has DIY options?
Either way, they seem cool, uniform & bright.
What's there several heat-sink options?
I should refer to the Quantum Board thread for these answers?
I noticed they can be ran at several different currents. What's the max for each board? Is 50% power rating the suggested input like w/ most LEDs / Cobs?
Neat stuff!

Thank you.
No optics on these. I felt in a reflective tent they aren't really needed.
Yes, Northern and Johnson combined to form Horticulture Lighting Group.
This is the standard heat sink on these but they have a second beefier version coming out called Slate 2.
I believe they can push 150w but check the Quantum DIY thread for optimal drive current and any technical info.

i just saw these Quantum Boards as well how do you like them how would you compare to say cobs ?
I love the boards so far. I love my COBS too but won't compare.....yet. I have a feeling these boards will become my lighting of choice though, so many positives.
We'll see in 9 weeks.

I have never seen single colas plants grown and am anxious to see how this goes and learn from it.
Me too :) I don't think they will be just single colas since I left some side shoots here and there for backup. Don't want to sacrifice some chunky golf balls in the name of having just one cola. Trial and error my man. True single colas would be more feasible from seed I would think anyway.
