Ok so in my house its not Christmas unless we make Snickerdoodles. So of course when i moved out on my own I had to improvise the recipe a little bit :hump:

What you will need for this recipe is:

1 1/2 ounces of trimmings/shake
1 pound of butter
2 ¾ cups of all purpose flour
2 eggs
1 ½ cups of sugar
1 ½ teaspoons of cream of tatar
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons cinnamon
some cheese cloth
empty plastic containers

The first thing you need to do is making your cannabutter. There are numerous ways to make this, but if you want to actually have any kind of pastry that tastes good, this will be your longest step. Best to do the night before you plan on making your cookies.

1. Take a large pot and fill it 2/3 full of water. Put your 1 pound of butter in your pot. Next, take your DRIED trimmings(make sure to remove any stems/stalks/seeds ect) and dump them in your pot. Now you will want to bring the mixture to a boil. Once you have brought it to a boil, turn your heat down to low and let it simmer for 5(FIVE) hours. Stir around every 15mins with a wooden spoon.

2. After 5 hours, you will want to take your pot off the heat and let it cool down to where you can touch it and it wont burn you. When it gets to that point takes your cheese cloth and spread it over the plastic containers you will use(empty butter containers, ice cream, ect). Put some rubber bands around the cheese cloth so the cloth doesnt get away from you.

3. Take a ladel and scoop out your green mixture and pour it over the cheese cloth and into your plastic containers. Fill about 3/4 of the container. Use some gloves(or your hands will stink for days) and squeeze out the cheese cloth to get every last drop. Repeat this until you get everything out of your pot.

4. Put the lids on the containers and place them in your freezer on a level surface. After about 5 more hours the butter will solidify and some of the water will turn to ice. Take each container one by one over to the sink. Take off the lid, and with one hand supporting the ice block, turn container upside down and release. Some water will come pouring out, and the ice just needs to be scraped away from the main butter block. You should be left with a smooth, round slab of light green butter.

Now the easy part!

5. Take 1 cup of your hydrobutter, sugar and eggs and beat them until creamy. Add your cream of tartar, baking soda and salt then blend. Next add in your flower and mix it well. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours(overnight is preferred)

6. While your dough is chilling you can mix up your cinnamon and sugar topping in a bowl(you will be rolling your doughballs in this)

7. After your dough has been chilled for at least 2 hours, preheat your oven to 375°F. Shape dough into balls about 1 ½ inches in diameter and drop them into your bowl of cinna/sugar and coat the entire surface of your doughball. Place your doughballs on an ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

8. Bake at 375°F degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. You should end up with about 3 dozen cookies.

A perfect cookie for the holiday season. Try not to eat too many at once or you will quickly forget whats going on around you
