okay, i have a homebox xl(47.25x 47.25x78.75), now i was looking at can/fan. i like the idea of this fan becomes it helps with air movement and odor control. I will be running a 600watthps light in this tent. now i have two questions.

What size can/fan should be used in that area? is it enough with some circualting fans to keep temps in check??

My second question is what type of reflector should i go with?

3. http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/customkititems.asp?kc=HLHPS06SYM2&eq=

also in that size tent should i go with 6 or 8inch reflector. i would like to be able to do 9-12 plants in this tent. what is everyones thoughts??

a couple of thoughts for you:

the "reflectors" you've selected are all complete lighting systems. the reflector is just the metal housing for the light.

any of the lighting systems will work for you.

all three of the reflectors are fitted for air-cooling with 6" inline fans and ducting. circulating fans in the tent will not be enough to cool it. you need to exhaust the hot air outside the tent.

you should be able to fit 9-12 plants in your tent

the size relates to the size of ducting that attaches to the reflector. 6" is best for finding ducting and inline fans.

i seem to have the issue right now of keeping my ducting ON my hoods ... the fan blows them off ... i have them duct taped .... any tips ... should i try to zip tie them?

Zip ties always worked for me. Surely your fan is sucking through the ducting? If not it should be, stops air leaking out.
Also that sharp bend where the duct comes out of your fan is restricting the airflow and making your fan work harder. Is that the only place you could mount the fan? Always try to keep ducting as straight as possible, if you need it to go round a corner, try to lengthen the curve as much as you can to minimise resistance.

ironically the part with the most bend has stayed on .... all the other connections have fallen off .... and then been re-ducted .... il try some zip ties see if that works.

and no its acutely sucking air from outside and pushing it to the hoods ... to keep them cool ... and it also keeps my room at about 77 lights on and 70 lights off ...

how did my thread get taken over, what size can/fan should i go with for my area?
Sorry! My room is a slightly larger volume than yours, 600w hps and DIY cooltube, 240cfm centrifugal fan keeps my temps down to below 77f, and it goes through 7 feet of ducting and a carbon filter which will hamper it's performance. I'd recommend something a similar size, but it depends on the temperature of the intake as to how effectively you can cool the light. If it gets hot outside where you are then you might need to have a seperate cooling system for the light, and possibly an AC too.
