House Intelligence Committee calls for Grand Jury on Trump/Russia collusion

You know its crazy we argue about what specific technical policy stance we need on the left, which i beleive is a historical pattern of the left, and yet the right kicks our ass at times just coming up with slogans and few random talking points... policy matters none in the end as long as you leave guns alone the sheep will follow anything else, and we loose ppl with long policy papers and technocal arguments.

Im not arguing we give our intellect up, but pondering tactically maybe we need to do political battle their way... fight fire with fire... just backed up with brains and heart post victory.

We need a good damn slogan!

All it takes is pushing populist left positions. Oddly enough, lukewarm neo-liberal positions don't excite people. Being told "America is already great!" when more than half of the population earns less than $30K/year makes them feel like their economic opinions are largely irrelevant

Asking how Democrats can win is just like a fat person asking how to lose weight. The formula is there, right out in the open; eat right and exercise. Same thing with the Democratic party; actually support progressive positions and don't be beholden to corporate donors

It's so obvious one has to wonder why the obvious steps haven't already been taken.

The fix has been in for awhile and the screws have been tightening for a long time. When change comes, it will be as if a dam burst- overwhelming and just as unstoppable.

It's an apt analogy; the only way to handle such an event is to plan ahead and build solutions that will be in place before it happens.

Frankly, America sucks at this kind of foresight.

i dont think I mentioned anyone...
You said, 'impeach Trump'. Pence is Veep. Who else do you think would end up in the Oval Orifice?

The Chump is a buffoon but he's relatively ineffective. Just today he asked the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe if they could build a few cars in the US...

Honda has been building more cars in America than in Japan for almost 20 years now. Toyota builds millions of cars a year in the States. The Chump is a buffoon and he's doing a decent job of self containment.

Pence is far more potentially dangerous. Maybe things would be different if the midterms took away their Congressional majorities.

I thought if you impeach him for Russian collusion then his whole party would be null and void and back to the polls you would go.

I was under the impression you voted for a president not a party. But its not something I'm up on to be honest.

Impeach and remove the President and his VP steps in- unless he's also impeached. I have a feeling that Pence would have been very careful about covering his tracks. The best realistic outcome would be that Pence sits down at the Resolute Desk only after the Republicans have been decimated in both House and Senate- a prospect that is frankly not looking very likely at this point.

Pence used an AOL account that got hacked, so he started a new AOL account...

Yeah, he's so intelligent and cunning.

You have a long standing habit of underestimating your adversaries and being wrong.

Your habit of being too stupid to learn from this oft repeated mistake is just as long standing.

Is that why every single candidate you morons have put forward has been rejected?

Bernie couldn't even win a primary, lost in a landslide.

Hillary got the 2nd Most Votes in the history of our country and yet lost...and you want to talk about "Democracy" without addressing the electoral college.

You're a lonely Dotard that spends too much time with their own thoughts and in digital places with a circular confirmation bias.

our constitution has no mechanism for dealing with anything like what happened in 2016. the cheaters still get to govern even after they are caught and sentenced to prison. we would have to amend the constitution to make it right. not much hope of that.

Looks like another russian agent tied up in the us investigations has gone and done disappeared.

Source: CNN

Professor Joseph Misfud, a subject in the FBI investigation against George Papadopolous has disappeared..

Those silly russians, always misplacing their agents. I'm sure he is simply leaning too far over a railing somewhere. He will turn up eventually. ;)

2017 Elections Results

Vanessa Agudelo (I) City Council, Peekskill NY

Scott Alberts (D) Treasurer, Upper Darby PA

Lee Carter (D) Virginia's House of Delegates in District 50, VA

Charles Decker (D) Alderman for District 9, New Haven CT

Ben Ewen-Campen (D) Board of Aldermen - Ward 2, Somerville MA

Kara Gloe (I) School Board, Moorhead MN

Kara Gloe lives in Moorhead Minnesota. She was one of the original organizers of the Red River Valley DSA chapter. She organized a fundraiser in July that raised money to help pay off some of the school lunch debt, and wants to work to ensure every child has access to healthy food in school, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. She works in community development and is committed to creating a more equitable society for all. That commitment to equity is what inspired her run for school board. She campaigned on a platform of supporting students, supporting teachers, and supporting families.

Ross Grooters(I) City Council, Pleasant Hill IA

In both rural and urban communities, difficult economic demands are diminishing the power of people to control their day-to-day lives. This is also true in relatively well-to-do suburban communities like Pleasant Hill. When choosing to opt out of a county minimum wage increase earlier this year, the city council failed to represent working people in our community. As a union worker, Ross Grooters felt a need to step up and be a voice for working people. This led to a door-to-door campaign listening to the community and championing three issues: clean water, living wages, and a welcoming community.

Denise Joy (I) City Council Ward 3, Billings MT

Kristin LaLonde (I) City Commission, Mount Pleasant MI

Brian Nowak (D/WF) Town Council, Cheektowaga NY

Brian is a long-time resident who lives just across from Cheektowaga Town Park. He grew up minutes away from where he now resides, raised by a single mom with his younger and older brothers. He studied Education at SUNY Buffalo State, becoming the first in his family to graduate with a college degree. Brian has been a business manager in the town, with experience addressing budgetary issues and making a struggling operation profitable again. His recent work has been centered around political organizing and civic activism. Brian and his wife Holly have been happily married for ten years.

Anita Prizio (D) County Council - District 3, Allegheny PA

Tristan Rader (D) City Council, Lakewood, Cuyahoga County OH

Tristan’s campaign for Lakewood City Council was about reprioritizing basic, people-first government. Strong public services, an inclusive culture, and genuinely open, democratic decision-making are concepts that he hopes most people support, and he’s honored that Lakewood endorsed this platform today. As a DSA member, he will continue working to make it a reality for all. He is very glad that DSA was a part of this campaign and will be part of that ongoing work.

Carlina Rivera (D) City Council - District 2, New York City NY

JT Scott (I) Board of Aldermen - Ward 2, Somerville MA

Seema Singh Perez (I) City Council Third District, Knoxville TN

Singh Perez ran for City Council because she believes the city needs qualified people who represent the population of Knoxville. The city needs the council to reflect the genders, races and socio-economic makeup of the people. Singh is a qualified woman of color who is an immigrant and a naturalized American citizen with a background in social justice. Why does diversity matter? Not because we want to sit around a table looking like a rainbow coalition, but because the local government needs to understand the unique life experiences, challenges and struggles of its many people, not just the dominant culture.
Bernie couldn't even win a primary, lost in a landslide.
The Democratic primary was rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton based on the evidence. Claims made based on the results of a rigged election are moot.
Hillary got the 2nd Most Votes in the history of our country and yet lost...and you want to talk about "Democracy" without addressing the electoral college.
...because the voting population has continued to rise along with total population... duh. What are Hillary's numbers as a percentage of voter turnout? Nobody wanted to vote for Clinton, they wanted to vote against Trump..
