Track calories works, I have seen it work on multiple people, if you wanna take it a step further you can track your macros too. Look up IIFYM.

I notice people saying genetics is a factor, I read somewhere recently that if you get obese you actually pass on obese genes to your kids through the sperm
1 fucking hundredd

you can literally eat shit and track calories and control body composition, *with some outliers

I believe all our problems originate from poor diet, not just in food choice but the quality degradation of the same foods.
There's no question about most cases nowadays, the increased use of highly processed "food" is, no doubt, a factor. I think it was yesterday that a huge rise in obesity in England and Wales can be linked to the fact that some 50% of all food eaten in the E&W is shite, highly processed, nutritionally damaging "food" such as ready meals and so forth, people simply aren't cooking fresh food as much as before, it's easier to nuke something in the microwave, and kitchens have become display areas instead of "work areas".

You have a shit diet you have a shit immune system, leading you to catch any and every bug out there.

That one figure, 50% of all food eaten in the largest section of the UK, and we know the Scottish "diet" can be much worse, is highly processed muck we wouldn't feed to cats or dogs, will actually explain a considerable number of things, and not only in the UK as you will see how the figures vary according to country and the effect therein.

Scottish people have a tendency to fat because of living somewhere that's so cold and wet it's a wonder we didn't evolve with webbed feet, we could swim before we could walk.

Hardly how you would evolve to survive in a hot and drier environment.

Mother nature plays a part in what the "dominant" genes are for that particular environment, but sometimes the "recessive" comes out instead.

The bottom line is, we don't get fat from breathing.

When you go to the supermarket, avoid the inner isles, they keep the fresh shit around the sides in the fridges.
Fresh shit here is, in some of the major stores, the first thing that hits you when you walk in. One chain prides itself on keeping all fresh veg, dairy, cold meats,, fruit, and so on in a chilled room. Others take the "scatterbrained" approach and just decide "this space will do".

They have their reasons, those who don't do fresh veg (I prefer frozen, just as good nowadays but less waste) will just walk straight past the healthy stuff to go to the ready meals anyway so it's trying to get people to change that is the issue, not avoiding certain areas.

Sorry, no the amount of water polluted in the production of frozen veg is horrendous.
Then it needs to be transported in freezer trucks using hydrocarbon fuels to run the compressor.
It is not an industry I as a meat eater, can also support. The ecological price for my existence is high enough. We live in a farming community. I would say 80 % of the fresh veg on sale is grown within 20 miles.

The industry's been cleaned up somewhat over the years, but I'm still going to have my convenience. Very rarely have canned stuff, why do they always have to throw in so much salt and sugar, but some things like carrots are more convenient and finding peas that aren't in a can is impossible here. Bell peppers is another one as they don't freeze well, same with pumpkin, so they get bought frozen, but other things like potatoes are always fresh, same with salads (obviously) and leafy veg. Fruit is always fresh no matter what.

It's the processed food industry I have a beef with, we could live without that.

And for every person who shows something "works", there's another three who say it doesn't. You are an individual, what works for you is one thing, what works for others is likely to be something totally different. As I say, your post regarding how you have studied fasting for years because of your type 2 does come across as saying you know best when the reality is that if there was one single answer, one "best way", then we would all be the same and that would be fecking boring.

Fasting of any kind, unless done properly, can be harmful to the body, no matter what your condition or genetics. Doing so regularly can also screw things up in a major way. And, if it's ok with you I'll take the advice of the experts which, so far, has put me in very good stead, over someone who can use google.
we will have to agree to disagree, I get so tired of people saying "everyone is different" somethings are universal. Fasting will work for EVERYONE. I don't claim to know everything but fasting is the best way because it provides so many benefits. Doing anything improperly can be harmful no matter your condition or genetics. Not to be rude but I don't give a rats ass who's advice you take. I would say the average doctor is far from an expert, I use google but I look at the persons credentials before I take them seriously, like the Nobel prize winner I quoted. How many Nobel prizes has your "expert" doctor won?The people I get my info from are generally PH.D's and/or have many years in the field and I trust them more than your doctor. That's all I have to say on the subject.

Just start running and jump roping, when you lose 25 lbs start doing pushups. The thing is you gotta push yourself. Your body gets used to stuff easily. Gotta stay on your toes And eat way less. It's not so much about weight as it is about how your clothes are fitting and how you feel, your body can go threw major changes while staying at the same weight.

Calories in vs calories out, more out than come in you gonna lose some weight. Do weight training to train the engines within your body so you can burn more calories, thus eat more, all while keeping an eye on in vs out.

how many of you measure PPM & EC, PH etc... but you don't count the calories you put in your body? That's crazy, that's like removing the fuel monitor from your vehicle and driving around with no metric to the fuel you add vs use.

Do you know how many calories your body is using daily? Eat less than that number.

I started working out a year ago, 3X a week. Then about 6 months ago went to 6X a weak 4 Cardio and 2x Strength work. 2 months ago I dropped to 3 cardio 2x Strength workouts a week. I was holding about 165 lbs until I started the strength training, now I'm over 180! Still have the belly fat, but my arms and chest are getting bigger.
I think I'm going to drop the sugar in my coffee and switch back to honey? I need to play more Ukulele to keep my hands off the cookies too!

Try intermittent fasting and then do your cardio at the end of your fast right before your first meal of the day.

For sweeteners.
Some think even thinking about something sweet will trigger the hormonal response.
It may.

What I did was tested myself with stevia. I took it then checked my actual blood sugar, it actually decreased my number a point or two.

I watched others on youtube do the same so that gave me the idea.

So long story short if you want to know how honey effects you then check it fir yourself.

Not everyone is super sensitive to certain foods

dieting is especially hard in the winter too, as you will be cold from the lack of food. even in the hot summer you will be cold with a lack of calories but obviously its a lot easier. its always seemed natural to bulk in the winter and start dieting around spring. keeping your hard earned muscle while losing the fat is really the hardest part

Scottish also have among the worst diets in the world not including alcohol. Generally not their fault either. Quality food is expensive in Scotland. A lot of people die of heart disease. Sadly, many 1970s rockers in the UK died young of heart disease plus booze.

Sadly this shitty packaged food has become a global disaster. Many Americans are starving to death and are fat pigs because they eat junk.

I have improved with less food, longer bike rides and also leg lifts on a situp bench at the gym plus plans, etc. The only downside is I was lazy warming up and tweaked my back for a few days. 5 mins on an elliptical before starting in the gym gets you warmed up and stretched.

Stevia?

I tried that stuff and found it was fantastic for weight loss and exercise. As soon as it hit my intestines I felt a nasty rumbling and heard some strange noises and had to sprint to the thunderbox where I reckon I lost around 3lbs in 20 seconds. "Explosive" was one description, the stuff is up there with Picolax, my bowel was so thoroughly cleaned it must have been shining like it had been polished.

Never again, I'll stick to Tagatesse
