How do you know when seeds are ready to pick in autoflowers?

This is my first grow and I decided to go with short stuff because they seemed to have a good reputation and with autoflower because of space issues. I bought fem but wanted to start with regulars being this is my first grow. I planted 2 dr feel good and 2 Himalayan diesel figuring if a plant dies I'll be okay. I want at least one male so I don't have to keep buying seeds. But the one thing I can't find is when to pick the seeds from the male I don't know if it being an autoflower makes a difference. I do know that I would love to make a hybrid of the two but don't want the females to be too seedy. So I wanted to see if picking the males out once the seeds were ready would make the females have less seeds and also when to pick the seeds from the males. Any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS TO ALL WHO AT LEAST LOOK!!

males don't produce seeds - males give pollen to female plants so the females will have the seeds. If you don't want the full female plant seedy, then you can brush some pollen on a female plant branch.

Thanks for the help I do feel even more like a newbie now, so the seeds would be ready with the rest of the harvest. Now I feel I have to do another 3 weeks of research lol most sites have little to no information on males, now I realize for good reason! Now I must pray to get at least one female!

That thread is amazing I will now save the some pollen for my next harvest and create more hybrids... Assuming I like the traits it is showing! Thanks
