How far horizontally can you LST a plant?

I currently have a 48x24x72 tent, my plan is two run two plants under a 400w HID in LST manner, my question is If i continue to stress strain horizontally until I run out of room will the starting branching grow to be to large for the end of the plants bud sites to grow to proper size for flowering? lol stoned so I hope this makes sense.

The weight would be supported by string and possibly letting the longer end of the stock sit buried in a planter next to the main planter so it possibly roots into the next container.

How far sideways would you let a plant go? if thats the case I might run 3 plants in a intense bushy LST.

Untrained plants in indoors is by far the best way to lower your yield compared to super cropping, scrog or lst. The picture below is just one 5 week old plant in a 4x4 tent.

From a recent scrog , I've found yes its better to get an even canopy, great yields but it's harder to work on the plants. Great if you have extra time and low plant count.

My next go is clones from a Blueberry mother I'm keeping

Aero Cloner to solo coco cups then 2 gal Square pots with pure coco,

Lolly pop the bottom half and no training except maybe turning the plant 90degrees every day

At the moment I find the lack of movability annoying and I did autos so I didn't want to stress em. So there's lots of airy buds underneath..

actually the example I cited was pounds a month
and a dozen strains weekly harvested weekly.

but no, I just pretend to grow. I read a couple grow bibles and I used to know a guy that grew is all.:-D

I have one now that I couldn't fit in my flower tent, topped and LSTd its 4ft long 2ft wide. Now it has a screen over it and started flowering. Wrapping up my perpetual so my veg tent is now a flower tent.
Originally when I LSTd and supper cropped it once horizontal I tied a cane to the two mains keeping it from trying to straighten out.

I usually do a mix of LST, top and always supper crop to fill my space with a balance between low plant count and veg time. Flower tent is 8x4 and staggered flowering. Veg tent is 4x4. I go 4 plants per 4x4. So 2 plants in your space would be ideal and fill out nicely.

Sorry about the lighting, had to dig out an old HPS to use.
Need to do a big clean up below the scrog net but had the law outside for past few days and I don't want to be touching my plants until they piss off.
You sir are exactly who I need to be talking to! That is the exact style Im going for to get an even canopy. would you say that method slowed your veg time any?

To be honest I couldn't tell you how long it vegged for, it was the fifth blue dream seed and didn't have much room in my veg tent at the time so I shaped it like that to avoid messing with my other four blue dreams that were vegging.

It was tall before I splayed it out, it does take time to veg to fill out, but I wouldn't say it slows the plant growth down too much. Supper cropping probably adds a few extra days. LST not so much and they soon get used to it.
I wouldn't normally try and fill a space like that. Usually I let each plant take up 2x2 and I don't mess about with scrog nets. I just supper crop the mains to fill the space and flatten the canopy just before flowering.

With two plants and a 2x4 you can do anything you like with them. The world is your lobster!

I think its from an old episode of only fools and horses, at least that's where I first heard it.
But here is another old British legend pulling it out the bag..

Its just a piss take miss quote.

the world is your oyster

  1. 1.
you are in a position to take the opportunities that life has to offer.
"I can do anything I want to, the world's my oyster"

I guess it was first said by the above Arthur daily in minder (tv show) since that's probably older than only fools and horses.

Sadly I have to wait for the 5 little guys to play catch up to the big one. Long story short I was bringing things into the house at the start and set the seedlings on the kitchen table to come back in to find my cats killed 3 of 4 I had going. Less then 50 seconds out the door and they jumped on em lol bastards. To be safe I have 6 assuming half will be males which will leave me with hopefully a mother and two plants to flower. I'm aiming for a gram per watt or just shy of it which I have achieved in the past but with 4x4 tents and basement grows. I'm running coco loco and oceans forest at 5050 and will let that fertilize the plants for the next 30 days then I will switch to grow big followed by tiger bloom as well as adding in another 100-200 watts of cfl for flower. Do you have any pics or info as far as height and yield, light specs of the plant in the picture you posted?

Ouch, pesky cats will do silly things. To make it worse they will suddenly hurl it all back up right in front of you.. With that look on their face that says " ive just eaten your pride and joy but here I made this for you instead" :spew:

Hopefully your right on the male/female ration ey and fingers crossed you hit your GPW. Defo get a scrog net set up, it will help in a small space, or any space.. Go for small squares rather than the silly big nets they sell online which are not fit for purpose. That net I have, which you cant really see is 2" squares.

That plant pic was literally taken today, I don't do pics often but figured it was relevant to your original question. The net is about 2ft from the floor at a guess. Its under an old 600w hps with a new bulb, I flower under Quantum boards and COBs these days but like I say its the last of a run before I move house so dug out an old HPS.
As far as yield, I can only guess, its a new strain to me, I tend to run a strain for a while, this blue dream is new, the other 4 are only a few weeks ahead so not completely sure how it yields. The last time I tried a scrog style like that I had a 1.5ft x 2ft screen over one plant and got 9oz dry. I'm hoping for a pound of this 4x2, but not bothered if I only hit half that.
I would love to compare notes on how it looks under HPS compared to the LEDs but it never looked anything like the other 4 to start with, narrower smaller leaves.
When I move house I am planning on scaling down plant count slightly and having 3 tents all 2x4 staggered harvests so its kind of worked out as a bonus experiment to see what I can do and how easy it is to manage.

Have a look for the thread scroggers united in the advanced section, you will probably find some better examples of what can be done. :bigjoint:
